WingMachine91 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 this is probably the most exciting end to the season in the last 10 years. so many teams battling for not only the playoffs, but the seeds too. the flyers who are in 8th, can be 4th withing their next 2 games. its all so crazy, yet awesome. i dont know about you guys, but i am really glad that our team has clinched, so we can sit back and enjoy all of this, without worrying if our team will be affected by any of it. arnoldbuck 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 In my opinion, if the Preds want a shot, this is it. Van could do some damage if they get that momentum. Ahem, Luongo could do some damage if he gets that momentum.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 There's actually an outside chance that the divealanche might play the Ducks in the 1st round. There's a matchup of LGW's two most hated teams that I'd love to see. If it happens, I'll be rooting for injuries.
Zion 93 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 I'm almost thinking that Ellis would be a tougher goalie than Luongo right now, the way the two teams are playing. I'm hoping the Ducks play Calgary in a goonfest of a 1st round.

I'm hoping the Ducks play Calgary in a goonfest of a 1st round. As good as Dan Ellis has been lately, there is absolutely no way I would rather see Roberto Luongo over Ellis during the playoffs. Luongo can literally steal a series, or at the minimum give Vancouver a chance to win every game. I don't think Ellis has put himself at that level yet. Luongo can literally steal a series Has. Never. Happened. Maybe it should be changed to 'might be able to steal a series' because saying he can literally do it suggests it is something he has proven he can do. Not the case. I don't think Ellis has put himself at that level yet. maybe not, but I am still haunted by another darkhorse goaler-Roloson standing on his head in the Edmonton series a few years ago, when he came from nowhere. It would be on heck of a goon fest, though Edited April 1, 2008 by zombiewing
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 Has. Never. Happened. Maybe it should be changed to 'might be able to steal a series' because saying he can literally do it suggests it is something he has proven he can do. Not the case. I would venture to say that without Roberto Luongo, the Canucks do not beat Dallas in the first round last season. When Marty Turco played his best series ever, and Luongo was still better, that would classify as stealing the series.
McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 I think I am going to be watching Caps vs Canes, and I'll be rooting for the Caps. Yeah, that's gonna be the game of the night in my mind. Caps can tie the Canes in points with a win. Caps will have 2 more home games after that. Should be a great ending to the regular season

Should be a great ending to the regular season Yeah, that's probably the biggest game of the night. If the Caps lose, the Canes clinch the division and the Caps chances at the playoffs would be very remote. They would be 3 pts out with only 2 games to play. They would have to win those two games and hope that one of PHI or BOS lose all of their remaining 3 games.

kylee 727 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 this is probably the most exciting end to the season in the last 10 years. i definitely agree. this year, and more appropriately now, this last month or so, ive been tuning in to so many games on Versus, NBC and online to watch games out of market. the playoff race in BOTH conferences are absolutely nuts and tight as ever. every game down the stretch for these teams matter, and im loving every bit of it. the three point games are making things crazy, dare i say, the new NHL is working? Lovin Jiri Fischer 147 Report post Posted April 1, 2008 Absolutely embarassing. According to the versus announcers, Nashville is a team that is "barely in the rankings in the eastern conference." Know your s*** if you are going to announce it as your JOB. They didn't even correct themselves. Blues up 3-0 right now.
