We haven't had any depth at forward all season, unless you call the likes of Hartigan and Ellis "depth". Sucks for Kopecky though, his play has improved of late. (Cue the Kronwall fatalists: you have a new target.) Hopefully he will recover from this and stay healthy next year. He certainly has promise. Unfortunately, this means Hudler will see more ice time. cripes, does it ever end?????????????????????????????? this has to be one of the worst stretch of injuries for this team that I can EVER remember...I know he wasn't a key component, but losing the team leader in hits SUCKS...hopefully Abdelkader can step in and knock some bodies around Last year it was much worse, and back then the injuries occurred in the playoffs. It's too bad that a guy who does (sorta) hit is out, while useless Hudler will now get more ice time than ever (whom, by the way, hasn't scored in 13 games, again). Oh well. There is some good that comes out of this, and that's in the form of more ice time for Downey and hopefully Justin Abdelkader as well (who looked great last night). (excuse my blasphemy) i was watching the game and saw the tail end of the play he got hurt on and remember thinking "THATS BULLs***. THATS A PENALTY OPEN YOUR EYES REF" and then kopay skating off gingerly in pain. however, i do not recall how he got hit or fell or whatever, or even who the other player involved was, just that i was pissed and he looked hurt. this really sucks. we needed his size up front, even if he doesn't put up big numbers. I think any number forwards will step up and shoulder what would have been his load. But Kopecky has been really good these last few weeks and really deserved to do well in the playoffs too.
