Avs "fans" to desecrate Wings jerseys?

Apparently, a fan radio station has encouraged Avs fans to bring black tip markers and to mark up any and all things Red Wings in the crowd tonight. If this isn't bs and is true, then that's perhaps the lowest and most classeless thing I have ever heard of.

It's good to see the majority of Avs fans saying how stupid and childish this is, too.

There's a very simple answer to that.

Any unwanted contact can legally be considered assault.

If you are forced to defend yourself because of someone assaulting you, you cannot be held legally responsible.

I am not advocating this, but I have to imagine that if Avs fans followed the suggestion and permanently damaged the personal property of others, and there was a violent result, that this radio station could ultimately be held partially responsible as the Wings have played many games in Denver with no kind of violent outbursts.

I wouldn't call this a non-issue, but its still not much of one. From the looks of most of the Avs fans on that thread, they all think its highly classless.

the ones smart enough(hockey wise) to post on forums are mostly good fans...but i really hope those fans dont mark up some nice jerseys

which i think this is all a ploy anyway, the radio is just doing it so that there arent so many people wearing wings stuff at the game cuz they dont like looking at it and are jealous.....if i was going to the game this wouldnt discourage me and it shouldnt discourage anyone. It should only make you want to wear that much more wings gear.

at least the avs fans are seeing this the same way we see it. I would be outraged with that, spend so much money on something and have a jealous fan deface your jersey. I guess we will know if some people have the balls to do it.

The way I see it it's a badge of honor, a battle scar. When I wear my jersey to a bar or to an areana to watch a game it's my armor, and every chili dog stain, every black ink mark is just another memory... these are not tuxedos we are talking about here, folks. They are OUR Jerseys they are meant to see action, and when you think about it years from now you'll be able to look at your jersey and say "this mark here, is from the year we swept the Avs on the way to the cup, and the best they could think to do was write on me, because their team sucked on the ice, and they needed to throw a tantrum". With out the battle scars it's just the same as every other jersey out there, I wear those battle scars with pride, for they are what make it MY JERSEY, and no one else's.

Thats complete s***. If someone marked up my Wings jersey I would flip out. People pay hundreds of dollars to get the jersey of their favourite team. Thats just a dick thing to do.

Heads would roll if someone put a marker to my jersey. It's one thing to dislike a particular fanbase and it's fine to throw comments back and forth or whatever at one another but s*** like this just is'nt needed. Some people save like mad for months to get their fav teams jersey and yet some tools on the radio think it'll be "fun" to screw with them with markers. F**king morons.

Nice too see that the majority of people on the Avs board don't agree with this but i'm sure there's probably 1 or 2 out there who are seriously thinking about how "cool" it'll be to do.

I would shove my octopus up their <expletive deleted>, take their marker and write "hey, Bettman, inspect me for octopus matter" on their butt, and throw them on the ice after a goal or the anthem, taking care not to hit a player or on-ice official. I would not boil them. That would be overkill, and they would probably taste much better sauted in olive oil with mushrooms and served with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese.

Just as I suspected, this was an rumor and nothing ever became of it... there are stupid ass fans for every team but I had a feeling that avs fans would have more class than to vandalize someone else's property!
