Jamie McLennan, backup goaltender for the Flames last year.

In the playoffs last season, he came in for Kipper and after about 40 seconds of being on the ice, took a two-hander to Holmstrom's midsection, completely unprovoked.

He was suspended for 4 games (I think it was 4?), but he was basically a sacrificial lamb from the Flames, using a non-vital player to try and injure one of our vital guys.

Slashed at Franzen, I think. I was at that game (about 4 rows behind Flames bench!) Unforgetable!!! Crowd was WILD!

I do remember that last year... Just forgot his nickname was noodles...

This slash has detracted from what a great game Ozzy played tonight. He was swallowing rebounds all night and made big saves when called upon.

Hell yeah. Osgood's rebound control has become phenomenal. He's doing what we usually see when we're aiming at the other goalie's crest - just sucking the puck into his chest. The ones that he IS giving up rebounds on are ones you'd expect, like kick saves and the like. His glove and chest protector are just absorbing shots though.

I agree. The defense wasn't on it's game 100% today and Osgood totally made up for it. I really liked his performance today

I think we have heard the Ozzie chant more times during this 8 game stretch than we have all season, it's at least once per period. Rightfully so as he has done everything he's been asked to do.

I agree. I kinda feel lucky about walking away with the win. The 1st 10 minutes were attrocious (sp?) and I thought that they took it too the wings all night. I was shocked at the end of 2 periods to hear about the stats (hits/faceoffs etc).

From the standpoint of a 2 handed cross check, if the league looks at it as an intent to injure, Robida will sit, but not more than one game because it was retalitory. I don't think that they will look at it as an intent to injure because he didn't go for his neck.

Refresh my memory: Match penalty = automatic 1 game suspension, minimum?

1 game minimum It dosent matter of Osgood provoked him, he got the penalty and osgood didnt. Thats all they look at in Toronto.

Curious but is Matt at the game? We're still sitting at 9 wins up top rather than 10.

He did have a thread going for a Game 2 get-together... so I assume that he was at the game.

Since I was not on LGW during the game, what did you guys think of Robidas going after Cleary (and even taking his stick away and throwing it)? I was hoping they'd get into a scrum and Cleary would break his nose again. He definitely lost some respect from me today.

I just thought it was funny that a guy with a face shield for a broken nose was challenging a guy with a face shield for a broken jaw to physical combat...

What did Ott do to receive his 10 minute misconduct and 2 minutes roughing? My tivo went off around 5 minutes left in the game. I heard about the Ribeiro incident.

Tried to fight Drapes, Draper kinda just skated away, and then Ott grabbed him and suckered him in the face.

Suprised there isn't more talk about the called-off goal for the "hand pass" on Zetterberg. Would have been 3-1 instead of 2-1, a win regardless, but that's sticking out in my head more than the slash.

That's because as difficult as it was to catch at full speed, hand pass was absolutely the correct call.

I have to give big kudos to the ref for that one, honestly. Extremely difficult to spot and he not only caught it, he didn't hesitate to make the correct call.

Does his penalty get carried into the next game? how does that work?
