One thing they take into account when they review infractions I think is intended malice. Osgood didn't really have any I don't think, goalies do that a lot when players skate by. Ribeiro's slash, on the other hand, was chock full of malicious intent. You don't BC 2-hand a guy in the chest unless you're trying to hurt him.

He didn't. Which is exactly why Versus can go to hell. I was watching Ozzie the whole time on every replay they showed and his lips weren't moving at all. Sure he did put out his stick a little as Riberio was passing by but he didn't 'yap' to him. No matter what though, a slash to the chest should not be tolerated. Ridiculous.

Moot point. What Ribeiro did is suspension-worthy. Not too terrible, but certainly worth at least a game in the pressbox -- which is what he'll get, IMO.

I'm sure Ozzie's fine and was selling that, or maybe it stung him, I dunno.

But more importantly, that slash MUST be viewed as a deliberate attempt to injure, which is an automatic match penalty, which means automatic league review and he can't play again until they do review it. And there's a difference between hating a team and knowing what's good for your ratings.

If you take a 98 mph shot to the shect you sure as hell flinch but you expected it, you shake it off and get on with the game though.

When the game is over and you arent expecting a 2 hander to the what i thought looked like shoulder...it catches you off gaurd and hurts a little more.

I don't think anyone is saying Ozzie DIDN'T sell it. It's the INTENT TO INJURE that bothers everyone. I don't think we'd be all up in arms this much if Ribiero had skated over to Ozzie and shoved him or anything.
