CUJO#31 0 Report post Posted May 14, 2008 I've been saying this since I joined the site, being biased towards netminders aside. WHY CAN'T WE KEEP THE SAME GOALIE AND JUST FACE THE FACTS, THERE WILL BE UPS AND DOWNS!!! For the love of god, whe should have kept OZZIE years ago. This whole OZZIE/CUJO/HASEK/LEGACE/BLAH BLAH BLAH crap is for the birds. We should have never gotten rid of Ozzie and concentrated on other areas. Holy crap to think we could have stuck with a goalie all this time just blows my mind. Red Wings management makes many many many good decisions, don't get me wrong, but musical netminders and throwing cash at all the goalies over the years has just proven we lost out big time over the years and could have avoided all this drama by sticking with OUR GUY. Pretty obvious Ozzy has a proven track record and the skills to stand the test of time. That's my two cents, what do you think?!?!? P.S. Cujo + our current offense=CUP...jus sayin... I can't believe most of you haven't thought about all the time and cash we have wasted spinning the wheel of goalies over the years when we should have kept Ozzie the whole time. Given the way he's playing I think it's pretty relevant. Don't h8 the thread, just read if you don't like it, and don't be such a freaking git. The funniest part of the whole goalie musical chairs is that NONE of them played badly. But the "blame the goalie for playoff loss" mentality spelled doom for all of them. One very important rule of internet message boards, if you click on a thread and you dont like what you see, don't read any further. You posted not only once but twice, if you didn't like what you saw in the first place then go away, there was no need for the 2nd post. As for the goalie situation, Ozzy has been unreal, playing his angles great, keeping his composure..it's just been a very classy goaltending job by a classy NHL'er. I remember getting CuJo and everyone thought it was another Hasek move that would carry us. It's a shame it didn't turn out that way. Doesn't anyone remember how amazing Legace was for us? All they seem to remember is the playoff loss that was the fault of the entire team. We've had some great goalies pass through here the past 6 or 7 years, and any one of them could have carried us to the cup had they lasted long enough to have the team match their skills. Man you had a post in the other thread and I loved it, here again I agree. Detroiters seem to sell out on goalies. I have always loved ma boy Legace and thought he has the coolest goalie name ever. I still jang my Cujo jersey for the Playoff's and Ozzie is my mom's favorite, I think she has a crush on him. Oh and Hasek won us an F'n cup in 2002 and carried this team to the WCF last year and played very well this season. Had a bad run against the Ville (a very underated team) and thank goodness us fans in the D have such a fantastic tandem that we can go to a back up and have success. I bet Colorado and Dallas are wishing for a bit more then one decent net minder right now!!!!
