Deny all you want, but I believe he was a strong part of our team and you seem to be just completely underestimating his role. You don't believe he was significant, and I do. Simple as that. As I said, there are other factors as well, such as the team mentality and drive, but I also believe McCllean was big piece of our team.

Boyle and Blake are looking as fresh and ever and Sharks fans are calling freaking Patrick Marleau a Selke candidate. That alone says a lot about whats hes been doing - good special teams, good D, good offense, and most importantly good hustle from a team that for the last few years has been a good coach away from domination.

McClellan is a good coach, as evidenced by the way the Sharks have responded to him. That said, I think they will fade as the season goes on. I think the work ethic is lagging in Detroit, and players need to step up and be responsible. I haven't really seen that from some of them this season.

I agree with almost everything you are saying here. The one thing I may feel differently about is the idea of the Sharks fading as the year goes on. I think the Sharks are as dangerous as any team in the NHL, if not the most dangerous (argument could be made that Boston is as well). They are a talented ass team, and that ain't going to fade.

But what you are saying about responsibility, and our guys stepping up, or the lack there of is 100% dead on correct.

Again, how am I denying anything? Haven't you paid attention to my posts here? Never once have a diminished Mc's role on this squad. He was great and it was tough to see him go to SJ (even though he deserved it). It's just once again people putting words into others mouths blaming things on a new coach that had nothing to do with what's currently the problem.

The fact of the matter is people are balming McLellan for our defnese this year when he coach the offense and the PP. MacLean coached the defesne. If anyone wants to complain about a coach, McLellan's loss isn't were to start.
