All I had was a tangerine that was too tough to chew.

That period sucked :P

I drank myself clean out of booze, and there's still 20 minutes left to play. Oh, dear. Oh, dear.

Dang, that was hard to type.

I'm thinking two goals midway through the third. Sound good?

Very!

You know, I had gained some grudging respect for Ribiero as a Star. He has regressed to the idiotic, diving whiner he was for so long as a Hab... where I absolutely loathed him. Loathed the little rodent. When he came to Dallas, someone in that locker room sat him down and said, look, the Stars don't tolerate that crap. Straighten up and play hockey if you want to live and do well here. Modano, Zubov, Barnes, someone told him how things are in Dallas, and he's been outstanding for the team.

Until tonight. Injuries have eroded the Stars base this season (Zubov and Morrow out just kills them) and Ribiero is back to his old tricks. I feel bad that Ozzie was in the way of that theatrical set up. I've seen it done before to other goaltenders, and Oz is the victim du jour.

I hope the Wings come back tough and make 'em pay in the 4rd.

yah, if bobby orr's goal is "the goal" with his dramatic dive, then that is "the dive". That was beyond ridiculous...though Ozzie did nail him in the mouth and those goalie sticks are nothing of the lightweight variety, he busted him open pretty good it looked like. But seriously, throwing your gloves off and jumping through the air? come on...

Mike Ribeiro's day job:

...neither include much hockey.

oh, there it is. My lasting impression of Ribiero. He generally gets right up after one of these episodes and skates past the opponent's bench, smirking and perfectly fine. One of these days, the boy is going to cry wolf ... and not get back up with a grin on his face.

Obviously a tale of two periods... Lots of weird goals bouncing in off guys and through screens and all other manners of nonsense. But Ozzie has stood tall, and I'll give Turco his due for stopping Hossa towards the end and playing well in general too.

Given the opportunity to recover from the Star's furious second period push, I think the Wings will come out in the third, dictate play, and ultimately win.

On an unrelated note, that "Sporting Hour With Some Dbag" commercial with the meat and the dogs might be the most rigoddamndiculous thing I've ever seen. Great job, Versus.

I don't think things are looking all that bad actually.

The defense is absolutely not looking completely solid, but it's not as terrible as it was a month ago, Dallas aren't getting a lot of quality chances.

And we are creating chances once we get out of our own zone, someone just needs to capitalize on Hank's passes, or he needs to put it in himself.

Because I feel like he's the one who will get it done tonight.
