flames tred to be tough but wings were too fast for them and penalties were logical result

my response was more answer to those who were panicking how "tougher" flames kills wings with a "grit".

It is possible if wings were to play according to Flames's rules but Babcock's team do not play as others try to dictate.

What country are you from?

Please! I was here the whole time, and only caught the gist of it. Someone give us details! Pretty please!

The Flames scored 0-1 on a bit of a weak call on Zetterberg, Jokinen shot/passed the puck from absolutely no angle and it somehow got in between Conklin's leg/skate and the post.

Wings tied it up on the PP, after some nice combinations between the Euro Twins. Datsyuk had a nice backhand in the crossbar and Z jumped on the rebound and scored.

Phaneuf ran Cleary into the boards, injuring him (though he has returned) and drawing a 5 min major. The Flames drew a whole bunch of other penalties during those 5 mins leading to the Wings spending several minutes on a 2-man advantage. After I think one crossbar and one post, Sammy finally managed to get one in after a nice little pass by Kopecky.

To summarize, Kipprusoff and the iron has kept the score down. Shot count 28-4.

Downey would NOT have prevented Dion being an idiot and crosschecking Cleary. Franzen's injury happened on the PP after HE swung first, again, Downey would NOT have been on the PP. Downey in the line-up does not prevent ANYTHING from happening. Remember Lidstrom getting elbowed int he head, Downey was in the line-up that night. Enforcers don't prevent anything.

Wow, you are something else, where did I mention Downey in any of my posts? Maybe I should come to you everytime I post so you can help me get my point across......

Holy s***, the last few pages read like a day care center gone beserk. From what little I've been able to glean (since no one wants to be nice and fill those in who can't watch the game) we're winning and Calgary is playing like the Avs circa the late 90s.

Okay. Does that warrant the pissing matches about who knows more about hockey than someone else?

We could be winning 15-1 and they'd still complain. I missed the first coupla minutes, but the Wings looked slow at the start, as usual. Flames scored on like their 2nd shot.

Then Clears lost an edge as Phaneuf cross checked him in the lower back, sending him into the boards, tweaking his ankle. Then all hell breaks loose with penalty after penalty called on the Flames. Wings have a 5 minute power play and manage to score.

Franzen got into a shoving match and Vandermeer clocked him a good one.

Hope that helps a little bit.

Thanks Kristi, you're a saint.

Now come on Wings, let's pile those goals on! I want Hank to get his hat trick.

What country are you from?

from Estonia( near Finnland), heh.

Being Wings wan since Federev arrived to this team.

vandermeer got 10 minutes for "instigating" but there was no fight... to my undetrstanding was it an example how GMs suggested that zebras should suppress "potential" fights more actively???
