Agreed to a point..... I am SICK AND TIRED of hearing him say "Just gotta put this one behind me and look for the next one" I cant take it anymore, He hasnt shown any reason to have THAT much confidence in him for a Sucessful playoff run.... not during the second half any way...... I know Ill be labeled a OSGOOD basher for this

So Be it ..... I love the Guy But he hasnt shown me much lately..... We've given him Chance after chance

It sucks to see his game go downhill like this at a important part of the season..... But to all you Osgood supporters.. I commend you But Really???? IS THIS the goalie you want when the games are more important??

Supporting someone isn't the same as saying someone else shouldn't play if they are capable of doing better. Maybe some folks around here need to realize that. If Babs thinks Conks is better at this juncture, then that's what I think. But that doesn't mean I don't support him. I support all the guys on the team, regardless of how they're playing but if they need to sit.....they need to sit.

Too many people around here confuse support with blind allegiance.

I'm starting to think the number one seed is pretty irrelevant because there's a real good chance that one of these fiesty 6th-10th place teams will upset either us or the Sharks in the first round (maybe both).

I hate games like this where every shot we take is from the outside. I think Rinne only had a handful of tough saves to make.

I'd lke to see Helm brought up for some energy in our lineup.

At what point do the moderators label "TheOwl" a troll? He can't post without mentioning Osgood, and frankly, I think we're all sick of it. Meh, I guess that's what the ignore button is for.

Yeah, he/she is a troll. Eventually people will get sick of him/her and complain to the mods.. and when enough people do, he/she will be shown the door.

Just use the "Report" button.

Why was Rafalski out today? I didn't catch that...

... that said, that was quite the collapse today.

Detroit must want to face the Preds in the first round...

What I don't understand about the people who are still refusing to acknowledge the fact Osgood has played a level beyond horrible this year is how they would answer one question.

That is, if you showed up day after day for work and absolutely s*** the bed in the sense you were not doing your job at a level even close to what was expected how long would you last? I mean, it doesn't matter if every two weeks you throw in a good day, 85% of your work productivity remains s***ty. How long would it be until you got fired? Or for you to fire a employee who was doing this?

This a master plan bt the Wings to keep the Ducks out of the playoffs.

St Louis next who are now 3 pts clear of the Ducks in 8th place. Another

two for the Blues coming up curtisy of the Wings!!

Pluses from tonights game;

Lids and Dats both pick up 2 pts

Ericsson got in another 18+mins and is looking like hes here to stay. Even if Lilja

gets back, he'll be here for the playoffs.

Apart from that, How soon will Thomas McCollum be ready?

I don't mind this loss as much as the one against the Islander's. But I do think Babcock should rest our key guys (Listrom) and just say screw the race to the presidents trophy.

Listrom has been brutal. I think he needs time to rest.

The Wings better find their finish by the time the playoffs roll around.... 1st place in the West seems pretty much out of reach now.... I hope when we get Helm and hopefully Leino in for the playoffs it changes the dynamic of the team.....

Man,I'm telling you this Nashville team has our number. If we face them in the first round they can definitely be trouble for the Wings. No Arnott or Erat (most of the game) and they still beat us.

They didn't lose the lead because they laid back. They lost the lead because Osgood's positioning and rebound control is absolutely atrocious. Period. But go ahead and keep kidding yourself. Us evil Osgood bashers get a kick out of it.

Heh, I never gave Ozzie any props on this one. The whole team was laying back, and he was one of them. But it's not JUST him, and that's the really irritating part.

Multiple weak goals. s*** happens. We'll brush ourselves off and come back for the next game against St. Louis. Hey, Hank got his 30th goal of year and his 400th career point, so that's a big positive.

We're normally on the same wavelength. But how many times can we say 'we'll just brush ourselves off and etc....' until we're a .500 team? And yes, I know it won't get that bad this year, but when?

I'm starting to think the number one seed is pretty irrelevant because there's a real good chance that one of these fiesty 6th-10th place teams will upset either us or the first round (maybe both).

It's even more irrelevant since we have basically a snowballs chance in hell of winning it now.

Let San Jose deal with the bottom-feeder teams if they're this geared up to play top seeds. Maybe they'll do us a favor and knock the Sharks out.

Good plan, but I fear the race for the playoff spots is so close that also the 7th seed has to fight right until the last game.

Wow. Suprising statement coming from someone who refuses to acknowledge the fact Ozzie has played like garbage 90% of the season.

When should the determination be made that Osgood may not be the guy he was....... When we're down 3-0

in round one of the playoffs????

I love each and every guy on this team.. I hate seeing them lose it like that.... But We cant afford a Osgood-ian break down in a pivotal game of a playoff series.....

Just makes me real Un-easy is all

I guess until we're a .500 team (although I seriously doubt that'll happen any time soon). I just don't get angry when the Wings lose anymore. It's disappointing and upsetting knowing how we good we are and how great we can play, but I acknowledge that no one is perfect and that another game is around the corner.

alright i've always been an ozzie supporter, but he just doies not look confident out there. He looks shaky on almost every save and sometimes just looks flat-out lost. Also the occasional errant play behind the net, as hard as it is for me to say this; its time to get conklin ready for the playoffs

:(

Until we get eliminated and then there isn't another game around the corner. Or we don't make the playoffs at all.

That that I think their are going to happen (nor will I say they won't, particularly the former), but I'm just pointing out how stupid that logic is. If you don't care about the Wings, fine, but don't belittle those who ARE passionate (and don't tell me you are) and DO care when we lose.

Case in point, maybe someone should ignore YOU?

OK cliche lover...

Hopefully, Babcock realizes Conklin is the guy by now...

Problem is - and will remain - we have no choice with our two, count 'em, TWO goalies. Neither of them is very consistent right now, so what do you realistically suggest for the Wings to consistently win the remaining games, other than the really simple idea that Conklin's gonna save their asses? Because if you think Conklin is the answer, you just don't understand the concept of team play.

Right now, the whole team - from Lidstrom on down - is not playing to their potential. And at times, like in the third period today, they all looked pretty much like ahl'ers at times, and often at the worst of times.

I don't even agree with Babcock when he said today that the Wings (not only) can't get fired up like the Preds and other teams fighting for playoff spots, but that they're just trying to remain uninjured. Bulls***. Something's gotta start clicking with THE TEAM and it cannot, will not be solely dependent on a goalie change.

Agreed. The whole team is pretty much pissing me off but I refuse to hand Osgood a free pass because of it. If the goals that went in were unstoppable, then I would feel just fine laying all the blame on everyone else and propping Osgood up. Fact is, his positioning is horrible, his glove hand is more than suspect, his rebound control is nearly nonexistent and his puck handling is dicey at best. This isn't a new development. We've been seeing it all season long. This game and the Calgary game were HUGE games. Both against Conference rivals that we have a very good chance of facing in the playoffs. Inexcusable.
