As other posters have said both this year and in years past, its not the opponent that anyone is worrying about. Its Detroit. They're their own worst enemy. I have mad love for Datsyuk this season. The list of guys who have given their effort 100% night in and night out starts and stops with him. No Lidstrom. No Zetterberg. No Hossa or Franzen. I think the wings get bounced in the 1st round in no more that 6 games... that's not panic that's opinion. He would do exactly what every player on this team is going to do tomorrow, that is, namely, show up at the rink, stretch and work on any injuries and then bust their ass/get hammered by Babcock. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 3, 2009 I didnt get the see the game, sounds bad, and Conklin looked brutal on all the goals from the highlights. Defence looked out of position. This team doesnt have any motivation, I wouldnt doubt we'll only win 1 or 2 more times the rest of the season, we play teams that are dying for the playoffs, we're just... dying. You know, the Wings played some pretty pathetic and embarrassing hockey before the late 90s.....and he was on the team for a good chunk of that time. Yes, even the great Steve Yzerman played on s***ty Wings teams that couldn't buy a win if they tried. And they played worse then than this team is playing right now. So what's your point? Hopefully the team shows up then. hopefully. we've been saying hopefully all year. hopefully a nice schelacking will get our d in order. hopefully playing for #1 will give this team some passion. hopefully getting embarrassed will chop at their pride, give them a quick kick in the ass. hopefully giving ozzy 10 days off will refresh him. hopefully, hopefully, hopefully... but here we are, still hoping... I have a feeling a lot of those guys won't like him when he's mad. Either that or bring in Bobby Knight. A few tables and chairs flung around the locker room and the fear of God might be put in them. I am kidding, but it makes me think how much worse they could be. Ya i heard the Bruins found Tim Thomas playing road hockey, they were like "hey you, ya you, you wanna play for the Boston Bruins." OUR TEAM CAN TURN IT ON LIKE THAT, but not the goalies........... Im not worried about the Defense, they will turn it up come playoffs, offense is playing alright and can also turn it up but the goaltending is f***ed and the two bums we have now don't have a switch unless that switch goes between suck and suck less. Well, tonight, our goalie wasn't the only one on the ice who let in 4 goals. Had we won this 6-5, Conk letting in 5 goals would have been a cause for minor concern. I submit that the problem is the goals against vs goals for ratio. Say "duh" if you wish, but as long as we're not losing 8-0 or 8-2, I'm not nearly as concerned.
