I did it last year, and I don't think there was any official rules set in stone. Some people shaved or trimmed after each series. Others went all natural through out the whole playoffs. What ever works for you.

Luckily I have a job that allows me to look like a mountain man, so I'm going all out

Edit: dug up last years thread: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.ph...playoff%20beard

Hehe, no playoff beard or anything for me. I could probably get away with it for some lengths of time at my job if I'm not at an event or client site or big formal meeting or whatever, but I've never had a beard before and I haven't sported a goatee in probably over 3 years. And I can easily have a pretty good grown beard if I don't shave for 3, 4 days. I grow facial hair fast. But it would be impossible not to scratch at it, it's going to itch, the same thing always happened when I tried to keep a goatee for some time. I just hate the itching. So I'm going to be lame again and be clean-shaven. :P

I wont say what exactly, but I work outside and don't have to deal with customers or the general public, so appearance for the most part is not an issue. Ohh and I can yell and cuss... its a great stress reliever.

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to grow my playoff "beard" out. I work at a respectable place now and my "beard" looks really ridiculous and scraggly. I can grow it out a bit, but it looks like I might have to shave it at the end of every round or so. :(

My friends and family shave after the last game of the season. I've kept a beard the last couple of years, but always go "nude" after the last game. I'll be taking it off tonight and only trimming when the guys lose.

my last shave was today after the 'hawks game...i hope to take a pic before everygame to have a collage at the end of the playoffs....hopefully it gets so big that small birds decide to take up residence in it.

Go Wings.

I usually have a short beard going year-round, but last year right before the first playoff game against Nashville I shaved it all off.... THAT was a weird feeling. Probably the first time since high school I didn't have some kind of facial hair rocking.

I'll be going clean right before the drop of the puck in Game 1 this week, too.

Last shave will be Thursday morning, then its the hirsute look for me :) Last years beard was pretty epic. I fear that this years may not reach that stage

You weren't kidding about last year's beard being epic. You could've taught Crosby a couple beard-growing lessons.

(I know, I know. I hate to be a mindless Crosby basher - but with the Pedro 'stash - I just couldn't resist this time.)
