These are just GREAT! Even with just the few times I've been able to be there, I could just bawl if I thought it'd do any good. They're all good, but I love the ones of Oz and the Octo in the limelight, and the Jax player stretching on the ice. Looks like somebody hit him hard and he's down for the count. Heh heh.

The Red Wings are natural born Liverpoolers. Ozzie first (obviously the game's MVP), then the rest of the gang. I wasn't concerned going in, but the first 10 minutes were obviously not great, but if you can control 50 minutes of a hockey game I won't complain.

Stuart had some suspect moments, but overall a good game across the board. Nick was an absolute beast, Nash didn't see any daylight when Nick was guarding him. The great thing about the Wings too is the unbelievable depth; Datsyuk and Zetterberg aren't scoring? Here comes Hudler and Filppula (and Sammy! ). Not for lack of trying though, Hossa and Pavel were dynamite, and poor Hossa had a sure goal deflected away.

I would be remiss in my duties if I didn't hate on Kopecky for taking a 40 foot wrist shot on a two on one.

Btw, anyone know why they didny play Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmström Lidström-Rafalski as pp-unit #1? havent they had this for some time now?

In my mind I usually think "Hank is on the ice" as opposed to "Pavel is not on the ice," and to that end I don't really know how often this happened. Possible that the power plays occurred during or just after a shift by the first line.

Also, I agree with pretty much everything you said, and would like to add that the only thing I'm sort of not pleased with was the first two penalties Rafalski took, but he tightened up after them.

Definitely...say what you will about Oz, but the guy CAN NOT be broken down.

Osgood may have his rough games, and even his rough years, but what people don't understand about him (mostly non Red Wing fans) is that the guy is a WARRIOR.

He doesn't posses the natural ability or skill of a Roy or Brodeur, and this has meant he's had to work x10 as hard to keep a job in the NHL. Whereas other goalies of a similar "skill set" (shall we say) have had their okay and even good runs and then fallen off into the abyss and out of the NHL, Ozzie, even when down and out gets RIGHT BACK UP and dusts himself off, works hard and gets right back into the mix.

This is what I mean by WARRIOR. He isn't intimidating or physically tough, but he BATTLES for every success he's had and for every minute he plays. He's a strong willed individual. He looks like the kid next door, even in his late 30s, but man does he have determination.

The guy is the blue collar/working man's goalie. And as a reward he will have his place rightfully so in the HOF when he retires and his jersey in the Joe's rafters, after winning another Stanley Cup this season.

I have no idea how you cheer for 2 teams at one time in the same conference...It takes 150% effort of my heart and sanity to cheer for one team. My wife can't even comprehend how I act this time of year lol....good win by the Ducks tonight...The Sharks looked absolutely disinterested at times and it was awesome to see them get booed off the ice at the end of the game!! As for the Wing's... We got Ozzie to do what a goalie is supposed to do when his team needs him....After the 1st we worked harder than them and our skill took over..we got a lucky one but that s*** happens when you work hard. Before this series I was reading about how CBJ is a one line hockey team...after watching it would be safe to say that they are a one player hockey team...the only time in the game I felt that they were dangerous is when Nash was on the ice. Lots of hockey to go but it was nice to see us crank it up a gear tonight and play a solid game!!

Since people enjoy crazy conspiracy theories, I am going to suggest one of my own. Arby's is paying Red Wings players under the table. It's the only logical explaination for all of these "hometown discounts" and lack of hatricks.

On a more serious note, I was literally laughing out loud at the Osgood interview after the game. You tell 'em Ozzie! This criticism has him on a mission. You can see it in his eyes. I can see the headlines now: "worst goalie to win four cups".

The Wings simply dominated the third as well. The Jackets weren't even allowed to come back and do a typical late game strike we've seen throughout the season. The PK was great, Ozzie was great, the defense was great, the offense was great. There was only one mistake that the defense made that led to a goal but absolutely perfect games are rare. Even if this were the only game the team wins in the series it still shows that this team can indeed turn it up to another level come playoff time.
