WCSF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2

Ok guys, so how do you this will affect the Wings play come Thursday?

I really hope this loss will bring some flare in our team... I really do.

f*** this game. Sure we were outplayed for the most part of the game but I'm sure most of you guys agree that the Wings did play hard in the last few moments and deserved that tie to see who'd win it in OT. That 3OT loss was sure disappointing but this is by far more disappointing to me.

It'll go one of two ways

1. it'll fire them up, they'll have Rafalski and they will go back to Detroit tied at 2.

Or

2. This game really took the wind out of their sails and that call just iced it. They'll get murdered in game 4 and then go on to lose game 5 in Detroit.

One or the other.

Let's see, goalie interference on Niederwhiner ends up as ducks 2nd goal....

A good goal, on a puck that was visible by everyone, yeah the ref was just behind the goal, still he blows the whisle and cant be reviwed? why cant it be reviewed? everything else can be reviwed?

Should have been 2-1 wings really...

NHL is the worst ******* league in the world, bettman ruined everything.

If Rafalski doesn't play in the next game, I'm going to flip my lid. Our PP sucks right now with Samantha on the point.

I laughed out loud so hard on that. MY buddy and I were saying it makes no logical sense why he is there.

What exactly ended up happening at the end of the game? Did Pronger actually get anything good in on Datsyuk? And I know that Getzlaf had Zetterberg, anything happen there?

How am I supposed to sleep now after what just happened. The whistle was blown AFTER the puck was in the net! Also Hiller NEVER had any sort of control of it, he was simply squatted over the moving puck. I am so wired up right now, I dont know what to do with myself.

I'm not going to jump on the conspiracy boat, but clearly playing against Anaheim somehow generates bad juju. Non-calls, bad calls, fluke accidents, bad luck, it's all over the place year in, year out.

We can still win this, but they've gotta show up strong in the first period for once. I would think the Wings will. Being down 2-1 isn't really impossible or even unlikely to come back from. We're just psychologically drained because of what ******-bags Anaheim is full of and how often they get away with ridiculous behavior. Hopefully the Wings don't let it get to them and show up in a big way next game.

Watson demonstrates tonight why the NHL has the worst bunch of officials in any pro sports.

I hate losing, but hate "losing" even more. Go f*ck yourself you blind piece of Sh*t.

Here's hoping Rafalski is ready for game 4.

Wow, that's a prime time blooper call by the ref. Then there's the call on Stuart which led to a PP goal by the Ducks. Two game-changing calls...that's bad officiating anyway you turn it.

At the very least, this is going to give us a few more calls going our way next game. The refs have to know, after watching the tape, that they royally f***ed us over.

More like at the very least this will spark some emotion in the team that will inspire them to start on time. As much as I love them and as much as I agree that it was a bulls*** no goal call, they shouldn't be surprised they lost when they start out flat as they did.

I'm right there with ya. If I was the league he would lose the right to ref the rest of the playoffs. His boneheaded quick whistle could cost the wings their series. What a peice of s***.

We need some goons on this team. I am really tired of assholes taking liberties with our players. I know it's hockey, but come on. I would love to see someone put a huge beat down on Pronger. What an ass.

A beat down after the game was over wouldn't have changed s***. The Wings have been a step behind all series, and this is an intensity issue. There's little drive. The Wings are a step behind, the Ducks backcheck much faster than the Wings play the puck up the ice, the Wings are willing to take long, harmless shots from well out in the circles by the boards. The Ducks are protecting the middle, getting sticks/bodies in the way and it's impossible to get a puck in there unless the Wings decide to crash the net. The Wings simply refuse to. Every time they do crash they seem to score, but evidently they don't like scoring.

People crying for blood are just doing so for selfish reasons.

We played bad for 35 minutes, absolutely, but how many times in the past have we outplayed teams for 60 minutes and still lost? Regardless of how it happened, the score should be 2-2.

There NEEDS to be some sort of coach challenge implemented into the NHL. Things like goalie interference and quick whistles need to be reviewable. Who was the moron that thought it would be a great idea to make those things non-reviewable anyways? We are in an age of incredible technology. There is no reason why the right call shouldn't be made, espescially under such important circumstances.

Yeah, that's all we need is another Euro who's going to get pushed around, on the 4th line no less.

What we need is our star players to get off their asses. If you're relying on a guy like Leino to win for you, that means we've already lost.

Didn't you see Hossa get off his ass at the end? But then the refs put him firmly back on his behind again.

The Wings need to start playing from the first drop of the puck in the next game, but nothing can take away the fact that the refs ruined this game.

yeah mang we own da wings just like in 07 mang, dat was clearly NO GOAL it was under his leg da ref made da right call i watched a lot of hockey cuz my brotha DONALD play in da NHL he play fo da caps yo got suspended cuz of ignance

obama yo

you sound like an Obama-bot

this whole goal controversy better wake up the entire red wings team.

something has got to change if the wings are going to get back into this series. it seemed like the only guy that was actually getting in front of hiller was holmstrom tonight, and because of it the wings got some real good scoring chances.

also the wings need to get past this ducks defense, chip it in, dump and chase, do whatever you have to do. trying to finesse around them is not happening and its wiping out the offense.

Hmmm so the fact this team played like crap tonight, fought through ZERO checks, never drove to the net, or paid a price to win is negated by the refs horrible job. Guess what - noone cares about the refs now. The GAME is over!! This team brought back all those old memories of not doing what it takes to win. These f'n PERIMETER shots over and over bring back such s***ty feelings.

Disgusting.

And by no means am I fairweather, i'm calling it as I see it. Game 3 was HUGE. Now Game 4 is a must win.

And don't tell me Hossa is not hurt. Either that or he just doesn't wanna pay that price to score.

what did I say about losing fair? Utter bulls***. Not only was the goal that should've have never been a power play to begin with, end up being the game winner, the refs f*** us again. Even if he put the whistle towards his mouth, by time he came behind the net it was sitting in plain sight, he could've waited. I am big into conspiracies, even if the NHL is NOT corrupt, they should hire refs who know how to their job. Puck loose, play not dead.

Again, if we're gonna lose, lose fair, not by getting f***ed by the refs. Should be 1 to 1 right now going into OT.

Funny, Buttman thinks that nobody can see thru his crap. He just has to give Crysby or Ovechiken a Cup. I throw up in my mouth everytime I see something so blatent like that. And whats with Anaheim gettign away with liberties after EVERY ******* whistle? What was that bull at the end? I just don't get it. It's obvious th NHL wants this series to linger on. I guess the longer it goes the more money they make, I understand that, but that was almost as obvious as the Twin Towers be blown up via detenation...

Seriously....the Wings played god-awful, but at the very least, forgiving the Neidavacation nonsense, they tied the game....and they were robbed.

It's all true, play better in the beginning and it may not come down to that. But it did, and we were freakin robbed.

It has nothing to do with physical play or scrums or soft play or anything. Anahiem is shutting us down and smothering us. Downey wouldn't help s***.

I agree with this. We STILL have to have guys who can pass well, carry the puck in and try to do something with it. There's no way Downey or any other big tough guy can do that, period.

The ref WAS NOT behind the goal. He was in the corner, when the wraparound came, and had to skate to the back of the net to look. On the way, he decided to blow the whistle, even though the puck was clearly not covered.

I would love to punch Pronger in his ******* face!!! I hate that *******

It's mind boggling to me that none of our players have that urge, since all the fans seem to.

I wanted to see Datsyuk punch Pronger in the adam's apple there.

What a ******* screwjob. The NHL should be embarrassed for that display.

Hell no. Their not embarrassed. This is their next playoff commercial titled s*** happens in the playoffs. I think Bettman has a personal agenda to screw the wings. I know he has an employee incentive program for the refs when they screw the wings. Who ever that jerkoff was that blew the whistle probably has just won a thousand points to blow in the nhl catalogue.

:rotflmao:

Best part of the GDT right here.

Yep, we got hosed.... big time. Usually I try to look at this from the other point of view, but the other point of view has no defense for this horses***. It all boils down to the fact that this should be a reviewable play. Of course the dirty goon ducks get a gift wrapped win. Sure we came out playing flat, but we turned it up and really showed that we are a better team and when we are on our game there is no competition. Shame the refs decided they had to step in and call a bulls*** call on Stuart when they weren't calling jack s*** anywhere else which leads to a goal and then they take our tying goal away. This is the exact reason why the NHL is not as popular as it could be. If I am trying to teach someone about the sport that knows nothing, what does that make the NHL look like?!?!? Well the rule is this, but the refs can determine it to be this way too... WTF????

Okay, I've vented, moving on, let's get a BIG W in the next game and take it home tied.

Can't believe that once again I stay up till half six in the s***ting morning here in the uk to see my time get skull raped by the officials AGAIN. I have to say, the general standard of officiating in the NHL is so much worse than most other major sports top leagues. the odd dodgy hooking call etc we can accept, but continually getting such big things so wrong, which are so easy to avoid, astounds me. If i were that bad at my job, i'd be sacked.....
