Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 Pavel Datsyuk and Chris Osgood are TIED in points for this Series.... C'mon Pavel! We need you! You're too quick to diminish the offensive contributions of Mr. Osgood. You should've said: Ozzy is tied with our best regular season scorer for total points for this series! What a gun! :goalie1: Love, Outsider

Statts 4 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 Pavel Datsyuk and Chris Osgood are TIED in points for this Series.... C'mon Pavel! We need you! Indeed The ducks top producers are producing and the Wings top producers are not. If this does not change the Wings will be in trouble.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 as is the entire team! Don't forget that the Ducks are a better road team than home team... it's not like we're going to be playing the Sharts at the Tank... I really think the Wings can win the next two games if they play a full 60 mins and both Pavel and Hossa start playing like Pavel and Hossa.

Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted May 5, 2009 i expect him to be awesome tonight! hossa too! Me too. I was feeling kind of down this morning but I just said FECK IT! We're going to take games 3 and 4. I got this sudden rush of optimism, which isn't like me. Obviously we need to take it to them the 1st 10 minutes. Those will be crucial as they are playing all jacked up at home in front of their fans and coming off a huge, momentous win on our ice. If we weather the storm and get one early on Hiller, we'll win tonight. Although I would be much happier to see us bang in 5 on Hiller tonight and shake him. ltgator333 3 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 Well I think it's obvious our team's top guys haven't done much of anything so far.. but hey who honestly thinks they can be totally shut down by anyone for the entirety of a series? I really doubt it. The way I look at it is this- we're 1 and 1 with a pretty good club minus 2 top 6 defensemen, a top faceoff man and our scoring hasn't even totally kicked in yet. I'd be a fool to not be worried but if any of said lackings in our team's game pick it up it's going to be a whole new situation. Rafalski and Lilja aren't back, neither is Draper, but, Datsyuk and Hossa are one good shift away from turning the tables on Anaheim.

I was all kind of "blah, blah, blah we're screwed" after game 2, but starting last night, I started feeling a lot better about things. Think about game 5 of the SCF. The freaking Cup was out of the box, ready for the party in front of home fans. Losing then was WAY more demoralizing than this one, and we still responded like champions do. I expect no less than that tonight. Agree about the first 10 minutes--universal fact of road playoff games. Survive that initial burst, then win the game. Big things from Pavs and Hoss tonight, I have faith.

Wingsallwin 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 I did not care how Hossa and Datsyuk played until the end of game 1 because it showed that the Wings have great depth on both offensive zone and defensive zone. However, I start to get little scary at this point. While the Ducks ALL BEST PLAYERS play their good hockey, not ALL BEST WINGS PLAYERS play their good hockey. It was good to see Datsyuk looked much better in the overtime but more concern should be on Hossa. I am not bringing up the jinx or some other bad memory but before the last season's playoff, Hossa was known as a PLAYOFF CHOCKER. I love Hossa so he should perform very well but his playing level now is very hard to understand and more likely not being able to accept in my mind. I do not know this is any wrong on our first line chemistry or personal thing. His all wrist shot was too easy to save for Hiller so I hope he performs far better. We know our third liners: Huds, Filp, and Sammy are performing better than we expect and yes, it is good to see. However, to win the series and to defend the Cup, our best players have to come up the level we want. If I see Datsyuk and Hossa now, it seems both players play up to only half of their potential level. They seriously have to come up big today and if both players do not come up huge, it will be a huge trouble and we have to set all the lines differently. It is not important Rafalski and Draper are out at this time because Ozzie, our checking 4th line, and D-mans looked fine from my view even though few of D-mans really looked bad in the 1st and 2nd periods of game number two. I never worried of our offenses before the series started but I think it is time for us and the Wings to realize that the best players have to play like our BEST PLAYERS, NOT LIKE 3RD OR 4TH LINERS. I still think Datsyuk-Hossa-Holmstrom line is our first line over Zetterberg-Cleary-Franzen line so 1st liners have to play FREAKING AWESOME tonight.
T.OWingsFan 7 Report post Posted May 5, 2009 What's Datsyuk's pt totals on the road in the playoffs vs at the Joe? He's always better on the road and I saw him getting better as game 2 wore on. He needs to turn it up.

I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate, (again), and state the obvious: The Ducks are NOT the Penguins. They, too, are a Cup Champ. And they, too, know how to respond like Champions do. I do NOT want our boys to lose this Series. And if they don't wake up, that is exactly what they will do.
