WCF GAME 1 GDT: Blackhawks 2 at Red Wings 5

Does anyone else think the reason Datysuk isn't scoring is because of Hossa and Homer? Neither look very good, Homer looks slow, Hossa can't finish, even after beautiful passes by Dats. Datysuk needs to be told to just shoot, because neither of his line mates can score to save their lives.

It's also funny how all those people who wanted Hossa over the Mule or Zetterberg are being owned right now. Holland is the king, and TBH, I think this team without Hossa would be playing better at the moment. He's playing TERRIBLY!

If we win 8 more games I don't care if Datsyuk and Hossa combine for 0 more points.

If we don't win 8 more games, I won't be happy even if Datsyuk and Hossa each get a hat trick in every game.

Very entertaining game so far, still a lot of questions waiting to be answered too.

Will Khabi continue to carry his team on his back?

Will Joel Q actually stop trying to beat the Wings at their own game?

Will the Blackhawks play their best period in the third yet again like they kept doing against Vancouver?

Will someone get a freaking assist?

Will Dastyuk be able to score without the aid of wind!?

Like I said earlier, he should be playing with Franzen.

I don't think playing with Hank is going to help him, because it hasn't worked so far when Babcock has tried it.

I'd be nice if Datsyuk could get it going on the PP, but he can't seem to do that either right now.

Put down the Haterade. Datsyuk is playing like crap as well. The whole first line is just sad right now.

Chicago won't win a game in this series if they continue to play up and down hockey with the Wings.

What they and their dumb ass fans don't realize is that the Wings aren't the same as Calgary and Vancouver. You can't beat us in a track meet.

We had more odd man rushes in that period than we had the whole series against Anaheim.

no doubt - the hawks cannot keep turning the puck over like they have or it will be a very short series.

however, the wings have turned the puck over a hell of a lot too which is a definite concern.

Yeah, Datsyuk should play with Z and Cleary. Franzen and Flip are both hot and can get Hossa going. Even though we are in the lead, I don't think most of the lines are really clicking.

Just like the remark by McGuire about the wind helping Datsyuk score during the Winter Classic.

lol, yeah, I remember that. That was so funny.

I must have been watching a different second period than the rest of you guys because I didn't see anything resembling dominance. I saw a lot of ugly play in our end and still too many giveaways as we cross into the Chicago zone. It's really too even a game for my tastes - we need to be better at getting control deep in our zone and better at maintaining control at the beginning of the attack.

Or why not

Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Franzen

Cleary-Filppula-Hossa

Well, I like where we are.

Khabijoiopbhlastaltluin has been outstanding. We should probably have 2 or 3 more goals, but he's been ******* on point.

John Franzen is, for all intents and purposes, the best man ever made. What an effort on his goal. He just doesn't care about the welfare of himself or anybody else on the ice. Not many people would have been able to find the combination of strength and skill to make that play happen. I love him.

This is me beating a dead horse, but we NEED more from Dats and Hossa. They've been kind of strange this afternoon, in the sense that I notice them a lot, but it's just kind of like, "Oh, there's Pavel Datsyuk. Oh, why is he doing that?" Hossa has had a bad game today, filled with turnovers and questionable decisions. I don't quite understand the Hossa-Datsyuk-Abdeldoodoo line, but I'm not a coach and I have no idea what I'm talking about.

So, yeah, pretty good to this point. We started to really take it to them in the second half of that second period. Ozzie makes a couple big saves, we play some solid defense and we go up 1-0 in the series. Yes, please.
