Yeah, McCreary is noticeably on a higher plane than most NHL officials. Whenever I don't notice the refs, he's the guy on the ice. They made a phantom call on the Hawks in the 2nd period but overall it was a solid effort by the refs.

That call on Hossa was BS too...but I can definitely live with that. No calls in the 3rd and OT, but it wasn't like they swallowed the whistles...just good, clean, hard hockey both ways. Great job by that crew.

I didn't watch it in slo-mo yet but, at the time, it looked like Hossa got the guys right hand. I'll check it out and if I'm wrong you'll know about it.

I couldn't see WHAT hossa's stick hit in the replays but it clearly broke on the upswing.

What a fantastic goal by Helmer! Did anyone deserve that more than him? He played out of his mind! A wonderful way to close out the series!

Can't complain about the refs tonight, that's for sure. I thought the slashing call on Hossa was questionable, but other than that no complaints.

So glad Helm got the GWG. When he killed like 20 seconds off that one Penalty all by him self, I was like this guy deserves the game winning goal or at least a hat trick.

The Wings had problems with the schedule during the regular season too. There were a s***load of 3 games in 4 days with travel included.

They can do it.

I'm not so much concerned about them being "tired." It's only a days difference from the Pens and they don't have to travel anywhere. They can rest up in time. I'm more concerned about injury recover time. Is the two days enough for Lidstrom and Datsyuk to recover?

Just got back from the game; what an emotional rollarcoaster. I have only ever gone to playoff games where the wings blow out the other team so this was intense. I am 7-0 going to playoff games so I need to go buy finals tickets... I am never going to bed cuz that game was crazy!!! Loved the Ozzie chants he was awesome along with helm and Hossa.
