titanium2 867 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 Good thread. Zetterberg-Fedorov-Yzerman Lidstrom-Konstantinov Hasek All in their primes, even though Z's hasn't really happened yet.
mmamolo 287 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 I'd have to think about my forwards a little but if it's all time I'd be hard pressed not to include Howe. Seeing as I'm going to be biased to guys I've seen play in my lifetime I'm going to look at it from the stand point of the last 25 years. My D would be Konstantinov - Lidstrom no doubt. Guest micah Report post Posted August 24, 2009 I prefer lines that actually did spend time together, all-time is too hard. Gallant Yzerman Probert was the most entertaining one I ever got to watch. I would have liked to have seen Howe Able Lindsay.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 I don't know about an exact line, but the defensive line would surely include Vladdy Konstantinov.

Although I'd love to hear from someone who did witness the production line instead of seeing random highlights. Chances are though that they're either dead or suffering from dementia. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 If it's a line that played together I'd have to pick the Production line-- Howe, Lindsey, Abel. All time? Howe-Fedorov-Yzerman Lidstrom-Kelly Sawchuk I'm a huge fan of Vlady, but Kelly had a better career. If Vlady hadn't been hurt all bet are off, though. egroen 384 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 Best two defensive combos: Lidstrom - Konstantinov Kelly - Stewart Those two lines could only be rivaled by the Canadiens and Bruins.

newfy 695 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 My top line would be Lindsay Yzerman Howe Vladdy Lids Dominator Closely followed by a line of Probert Shanny Kocur - just for pure entertainment purposes and the ability to score somewhat.

daniel1 32 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 Shanahan - Yzerman - Fedorov Lidstrom - Konstantinov They did play together, hence this is my all time "real" best line rather than a line that has players from different eras on it. As much as it would have been fun to see a Howe - Yzerman - Redmond line or something like that it's tough to compare players of different eras due to the style of the game and the players they played against. 55fan 5,133 Report post Posted August 24, 2009 Lindsay played with the Hawks, Howe with the Whalers, Kelly with the Leafs, and Sawchuk with the Bruins Leafs Kings and Rangers. I understood that to mean that this was based on how they played during their careers as Wings as opposed to their entire careers as was the other list in that post. I'd go with Gordie, Stevie, Pavel Lids, Vladdie (assuming he had never gotten in that limo) Sawchuck But you could easily convince me that there are other options that are at least equal. In fact, if you ask me tomorrow, I might give you a different answer. I'm picking Sawchuck over Ozzie because I think that if Sawchuck had the equipment that goalies have today he's have been even better. The other side of that is that he'd be facing guys with modern equipment. I still think he'd have been the best. If we're looking at their careers outside of the Wings, then I'd put Dom in goal. Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted August 24, 2009 I'd do a powerplay line like this... Datsyuk - Yzerman - Howe Lidstrom - Fedorov Sawchuk Imagine... yeah... Steve Y, Howe, and Feds would all be fighting over QBing the play, while Datsyuk (who of course is able to score himself) eventually just passes it to Lids for a slap.
