Guest ZetterbergFourty Report post Posted October 12, 2009 1. Alex Ovechkin - You can't help but love this guy on the ice. Great skill and just a blast to watch, even when Detroit frustrates the piss out of him and keeps him off the score sheet. 2. Mike Richards - Been following him since his days with the Kitchener Rangers, impressive leadership ability and skill. 3. Mike Komisarek - Mainly because of the bone crunching hits he deals out, esp. to f*** wits like Darcy Tucker. 4. Marc-Andre Fleury - Awesome goaltending ability. Can't stand the team he plays for, but capable of making some incredible saves. 5. Scott Stevens - Hometown boy, bone rattling hits, 'nuff said. I wanted to place Sean Avery one this list, but he did play for the Red Wings for a short time.

C-TownWing 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2009 I could probably cop out and do all Hartford Whalers (used to be a fan) or players who played minor league hockey in Cleveland (Kiprusoff, Nabakov, St. Louis to name three), but I'll skip that. I'll also stick to "my" era (90s-present), although I could do a great list of old-timers too. Joe Sakic - Going back to the Nordiques days, always liked him. Ryan Miller - Like Sparty (even though I'm a PSU guy), like Buffalo, what the hell. Cam Neely - Kick his ass, Sea Bass! Doug Weight - Shame he qualifies for this list. Ron Francis - Couldn't help breaking the no-Whaler rule with him. Harder than I thought, a lot of my all-time favorites (Pat Verbeek, Cheli, Keith Primeau) don't qualify. I like all of them independent of their playing for the Wings, for what that's worth.
C-TownWing 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2009 2. Mike Richards - Been following him since his days with the Kitchener Rangers, impressive leadership ability and skill. 3. Mike Komisarek - Mainly because of the bone crunching hits he deals out, esp. to f*** wits like Darcy Tucker. Crap totally forgot those two...they're contenders on my list as well. sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted October 12, 2009 1) Jeremy Roenick 2) Mike Modano 3) Eric Lindros 4) Paul Kariya 5) Patrick Kane As you can see I have a soft spot for American born players. I'll never forget the 1996 World Cup and 2002 Silver medalist teams, and Roenick and Modano both played a huge part on them. That explains Kane as well, who will be a Team USA fixture for years to come. Not to mention I have alwasys liked Chicago and Roenick and now Kane were huge parts of that organization. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 12, 2009 Clark was a Wing in 1999. Yeah I know, but for like 10 regular season games and the playoffs. Would've been fantastic to grab him in like 92 or 93 and have him with Yzerman all those years, oh what could have been.

newfy 695 Report post Posted October 12, 2009 1. Mike Richards - by far my favourite player in the NHL 2. Getzlaf - Guys a playoff machine and plays a similiar game to Richards 3. Wendel CLark - Like many said he was a wing but not in his glory days. 4. Scott Stevens - Biggest hitter of all time. 5. Lindros - In his prime one of the best players I've watched Yeah I picked classic power forwards because theyre the real hockey players. Guys who get their noses dirty but can still get the pretty goals and beat someone up the next shift.
