HockeytownRules19 902 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) But the catch is... he must not be on the current roster.... Who do you guys think it is? I can't decide but i'll go with either Kindl or McCollum. I'm wondering cuz i am having a discussion with my bud about this. Lamothe 5 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 Tatar or McCollum. Kindl will be a great, solid offensive defensemen... But I'm not yet convinced he'll be a super star, like Lidstrom, Borque, or Leetch.

dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 I think Daniel Larsson could become a really good goaltender for the Wings. And like everyone else I'm super excited about Tatar, he looked fantastic in pre-season.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 I'd say Tatar as far as skaters go and Larsson for the goalies.

Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 (edited) Tatar. I know you said we can't mention players currently on the team but I have high hopes for Leino. He reminds me a lot of Datsyuk/Zetterberg in their rookie seasons. I don't know if he has the same level of raw skill as those two, but he definitely has a lot and he knows how to use it at the nhl level. A couple nights ago he lost the puck in the offensive corner, and instead of giving up on the play he turned around and stripped the puck from the defensman and b-lined to the net with it. He ended up drawing a penalty. I really hope this kid can gain some size on him and develop a bit of a Datsyuk/Filppulla bite to him so he can hold on to the puck a bit longer (speaking of which, I love that Filppulla is getting stronger on the puck). Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 I've got to go with Tatar or McCollum. Watching Tatar at the Prospects Tournament I really felt that if they gave a way an MVP for that it would have went to him. He was great there. McCollum I firmly believe will be the Goalie of the future for the Wings. Once Ozzie is done and as long as Tom continues to develop well I think he will be a crucial part of the Wings roster. Both of these kids show a lot of promise and I'm excited to see what's to come for both of them. I hope they both make the NHL and more importantly I hope they both make the Wings roster in the come years.
LeftWinger 5,152 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 Brad May......Kris Draper.....and.... Maltby is the young bright future for the Wings all young, strong, fast, skilled players have to wait 5 years in Grand Rapids until someone dies out on the Wings team or if not get traded for a 37 year old Brad May. I don't believe my eyes today...I waited for this for 15 years to see Draper and Maltby get scratched at the same time...God, this is a miracle !! Maybe next year we can try to get Mark Recchi from Boston to rejuvenate the Wings... LOL! I agree!

swiss_fan 3 Report post Posted October 13, 2009 Lot of strange replies here. -Kindl won't be a great wings player. At least he hasn t shown anything that could let it think. -Leino at 25 isn t a kid anymore Larson and McCollum both have a shot. I'll go also with a surprising answer: Coetzee!
