Ok, here's the deal. Sometime between the evening hours of February 26th, 2007 and just a few weeks ago, Jason Williams turned from a weak version of Bobby Lang that didn't even show up in the postseason to something between Jesus and Wayne Gretzky. The question is exactly when did this happen? I drew a picture to illustrate the problem:

Its pretty simple really. 2009 - 2007 = 2. Therefore, Williams is twice as good now as he was in 2007.

I LOL'd.

Since when all the naysayers are told "its still October", can anyone praising Williams also be told "its still October"?

Jason Williams is an anagram for "I slow jam nails".

Alex Delvecchio once had an offseason job slowing jam nails.

Jason Williams is the next Alex Delvecchio.

This. Or Jason Williams = Jail Slam's Wino. I added the apostrophe.

hahaha... a laugh all the way... but in all seriousness, I have noticed he has been rather responsible (far better than the last time around) defensively, him and Bertuzzi both... his speed has been a big plus as well as the threat from the point on the powerplay... we will wait and see what happens, as he has a way of occasionally making untimely mistakes when he is on the powerplay, but at least no worse than Samuelsson... so far.

Williams went from playing like the equivalent of Samuellson's understudy and I wasn't thrilled at all about getting him back, but I have to admit, he makes some pretty heads-up plays. Thing that surprises me the most, he actually looks good on the PP blueline so far, actually better than when he is skating down low.

He still needs to work on his boardplay, but so does everyone but Cleary and Filppula at this point. I'm pleasantly surprised to notice myself saying "wow, nice play, Sammy would have definitely fired that off a shinguard and chased it back into his own zone." But its early, and Williams looks good *knock on wood*

I'm not really a huge fan of having forwards on the point on the PP, even if it's Malken or Ovechkin, but I have to admit that Williams relly looks comfortable back there so far and he's been pretty dangerous. Every game that I've watched I can hoenstly say there has been at least one occassion where I was happy with his PP play and he got off a dangerous shot or two. So far I think we all should be pretty happy with the Williams and Bertuzzi signings. Bertuzzi has been dangerous and it's only a matter of time until he puts some poitns up.

Yay!!! J-Dub Love!!!

But in all seriousness, he has looked awesome so far this season! Playing the point on PP, i think he has looked better than Sammy. From what i have noticed he seems to be holding it in alot more than Sammy ever did.

I hated the Williams signing, but he has been one of the few Red Wings that has really impressed me so far this season.

I thought Williams had his best game against LA. He seems to be pretty comfortable back in the system and he has meshed quite well with Fil and Leino.
