So you're implying that the wings weren't motivated? Who gets paid to not play, but to drill and motivate?

The coach. But the coach can't play for the players.

It was the players who lost the game for themselves. Not the coach. Just about any inconsistency can be blamed on the coach, but the fact is most of those issues have to do with the guys who actually are paid to do the work out there.

Don't give me this "coach didn't motivate them enough" garbage. It's game seven. Get the f*** out of the NHL if you need a coach to motivate you.

What is a matter with you folks? Why cant you admit that Howard is not good. This doesn't mean that he is the only bad player on the ice.

You are also wrong about goalies. Look at Craig Anderson - stopped 48 of 49 shots to get his team the win. Can you imagine if there were 50 shots on either of our goalies? Oh my god - but of course it wouldn't be the goal stoppers fault, hell no - it would be Rafalski, Stuart, etc.

This has to stem from not having really stellar goal tending for a good couple years now - at least in the regular season that is. That is the only thing I can think of that would cause this laughable refusal to admit Howard blows.

Listen, Howard is hardly a favorite of mine, and I don't trust him at all yet, but he's had some descent outings and I think it's worth giving him more time. I don't think anything should (or will...) until January. You've gotta give this team more time. You've gotta see how Howard pans out not to mention if Lilja can possibly make it back. We've got more room now with Franzen out to make a move, but you want to make the right one.

And...

Good penalty by Flip there. Probably 5-0 if not for desperation and I'll take it. Proved wise.

And...

GOAL! Again, good penalty by Flip to stop a goal, good kill and then we score. I like.

True enough. And I'm not saying that it's all Babs, I'm just trying to imply that this is a team effort in failure.

Notes so far:

--> Helm with a spirit lifting goal-- the lesson he should take away from it? Shoot shoot shoot. When in doubt shoot! :) Actually, I hope everyone takes that lesson away from that goal.

--> Rafalski's been BRUTAL defensively. The Rafalski-Stuart pairing's been on the ice for every single even strength goal against tonight. I have no idea why they're still out there together. Demote Rafi to the 3rd pairing and make him understand how unacceptable this is.

--> Howard looks like a minor league goalie right now. He looks completely unsure of himself and seems to have less than zero confidence. I'd give Larsson the next home start. If Larsson can't cut it give McCollum a shot. One of the three kids can be the backup. Given how well Howard played last game, I wouldn't throw him out the door on his 3rd start ... I'm just saying we don't have the points right now to allow us to f*** around with goaltending.

--> Ericsson's looking much better defensively than he did earlier in the season.
