Nice win. Very, very, very happy with the way this road trip ended. Lots of positives despite all the negatives. We answered quickly when we went down 1-0, we held the lead through the third, held the opposing team to one goal, lots of young guys stepping up and looking good. Really, really happy. I think this is the start of what will be a great November. October's officially over. I always like November better anyways.

Phew. Thank god for that turnover, I don't know if I could have taken 1 minute of Flames pressure against our net.

That was my only issue with the game - too defensive in the 3rd. It worked, but I don't like watching the clock more than watching my team with the puck. Strong game by Ozzie, even better by the defence. Leino's got some work to do if he wants his spot back.

Not the most entertaining game, but exactly the kind of game I wanted to see. Solid 60 minute effort, good defense and goaltending. Sure, it would have been nice with some more offensive pressure and better PP, but these are the kind of game we have to learn how to win on a consistant basis.

Overall nothing but positives, but as I mentioned earlier I don't think Williams is doing ANYTHING out there. I want Leino.

Datsyuk and Zetterberg were amazing defensively, and Ozzie had a real bounce-back game. He looked calm and confident. Hope it's a sign of what we'll see from him from now on.

Wooooo! That was a good solid win :D

I think that was the best defensive played game we've seen from the Wings so far this season. Let's keep it up!

Also gj Ozzie for only letting in one goal. Could've been a shutout had it not been for that bad bounce but I'll take it

Osgood has looked pretty solid most of the time this season. He's been the victim of the team falling apart in front of him more than anything. Osgood's had more than few games where he's had a great game going for 40-50 minutes. Then the team stops playing and he still makes a ton of saves, but when you keep giving up quality scoring chance after quality scoring chance, they're going to go in. Could he be better? Sure, but has he really been that bad? I don't think so at all, especially considering his "worst" moments for the most part have come after the team broke down.

The difference tonight is the team didn't flounder it in the 3rd.

While I agree Ozzie for the most part has been good, can you really blame such goals as the OT one against Phoenix on the team? Or the two quick ones against Vancouver?

He has looked better than last year but like the team he has struggled to play a complete game. It was good to see him do that tonight

The word of the day, boys and girls, is HUSTLE. This team had the most jump I've seen all season for a full 60 minutes. I think the key was to keep the shifts as short as possible and keep the pace up so we could keep taking it to their end. Wish the PP could have been more productive, but overall, very pleased with how the team played. I think if Babs keeps these lines, or at most, only switches a couple of players, these lines will continue to gel and provide the energy we need. Way to go, Wings. Can't wait until Thursday when I get to go to the game. Hopefully, I'll get to see them play like this again!

CBC just reported May will not travel with the team, he'll stay over in Calgary tonight.

Man, the replay of that injury looked really bad. They're confirming it's around the eye area but not saying anything more than that.

The Vancouver game was a blatant mess. It happens. Hell, it happened to Luongo in a game 7 game.

The Phoenix OT goal: was it an ugly goal? Yeah. Do I blame him. Honestly, no. I don't think Osgood's head was in the game. Osgood gave the Wings more opportunities to win than they needed in the first 60 minutes and the team just completely fell apart in the last 10 minutes. I think Osgood was probably rightfully furious at the whole situation and I'm sure it got the best of him in OT. After all, it's October. I don't expect anyone to have the kind of focus they'd have in the playoffs in October. When your team just rolls over and dies while you're still playing great, and he absolutely played nothing short of GREAT for 60 minutes, it's gotta be infuriating. He's the only reason we didn't lose in regulation and I honestly knew that we were going to lose that game before OT started. The team rolled over and died and I think somewhere in Osgood's head a switch went off.

I'm not saying it's totally right or that it wasn't a bad goal, but why in the hell should I fault the guy for having a GREAT 60 minutes and then have to go into overtime because the team completely gives up? It's a stupid thing to do. Every player on the ice owed Chris Osgood an apology for that loss. I really think he was just infuriated by the time OT rolled around and it got the best of him, but it was the rest of the skaters failing to do their jobs that caused it.

Damn, that's not good. If he isn't traveling with the team then it's certainly worse then we all hoped... Hopefully it can be repaired whatever it is.
