puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 they look good in goal. That's about it, I think.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 That's a scary looking team. If you're a fan of USA hockey that is.
Guest Lidstromboli Report post Posted January 1, 2010 I think Burke got most of the lineup right, with the exceptions being Komisarek, Backes, and Drury. The top 9 is solid, but I'd be a lot more confident in Modano centering a fourth line than Drury. He has been terrible lately, so hopefully that magical "clutch" thing kicks in with him. If not, facepalm. Parise - Stastny - Kane Ryan - Pavelski/Kesler - Kessel Malone - Kesler/Pavelski - Brown Langenbrunner - Drury - Callahan Backes Martin - Rafalski E. Johnson - Suter Orpik - J. Johnson Komisarek Miller Thomas Quick

russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 They are one of the worst of the top teams... Miller is really the only dominant advantage this team has over anyone...
Carman 387 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 They are one of the worst of the top teams... Miller is really the only dominant advantage this team has over anyone... They are truculent and belligerent. They will physically assault all those soft European teams. Miller is the best goalie in the game. Easy Gold medal for USA. Guest mindfly Report post Posted January 1, 2010 One thing is for sure it will be tough to play against them and they have players who loves the tough game and block shots and whatnot... not much skills though but sometimes hard work can win against skills
MCleveland89 122 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 I wasn't expecting anything great, so I'm not surprised. Unfortunately, there isn't a ton you can do when you're only using players born from here as there aren't a ton of amazing players ready for this type of competition. b-random 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 I hope they go far (although they look pretty weak compared to Team Canada). There are quite a few guys on that team that I'm a fan of...almost all of them except for Kane.

Carman 387 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 Jimmy Howard should be on the team. Such a travesty.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 Jimmy Howard should be on the team. Such a travesty. I can't tell if you're being serious. Who would you put him over? Quick? Basically Jimmy is just too much of an unknown at this point for such an important tournament. Hopefully in 4 years when he has a Stanley Cup or two under his belt. RedWings Gone Wild 6 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 With the exception of Miller, this is a pretty uninspiring squad..
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 A few legit snipers, but I don't know what they plan to do about the PP, especially with Rafalski having the lousy year he is. Maybe put some forwards up there. Miller can keep them in any game, though. Go for gold!
diehardredwing19 11 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 im canadian n from a canadians perspective ...trust me thats one solid looking american team. good mixture of players looks like a hungry young young team all the best canada vs usa for gold would be insane! LidsFan 68 Report post Posted January 1, 2010 I am hoping that Rafalski can get it together and play well for the Olympics. I don't know how far they will get, but I will be cheering for team USA even though Kane is on the team.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 I actually like the look of the Americans team. The top 6 can score pretty good, and the bottom 6 is all hard work. Goaltending is fantastic too. They could be a good team.
SweWings 45 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 If Miller stands on his head they might upset some teams but I don't think they have enough to challenge Russia and Canada.
tommingthepuck96 1 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 I think their forwards is full of under-rated players . They have a pretty solid line-up. D looks a little weaker than most teams just can't believe orpik made the team over rob scuderi.
TheDetroitRedWings 286 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) For the first time in a very long time, Team USA looks pretty stacked. Not super impressed with our D. But our forwards look fantastic. Although Gomez and Gionta definitely got robbed. They're better overall players than Drury and Callahan. Goaltending looks very good also. GO USA BABY! TheDetroitRedWings 286 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 I could see maybe not putting Gomez on the team. But how can you not put Brian Gionta on Team USA??? He must not be large enough for Burke...
