Will Mike Green win the Lidstrom?

I am not a big Mike Green fan but you have to admit that +21 and 50 points is impressive. Makes me wonder if he should have been on Team Canada. His defensive play seems to be really improved. Anyone else think he has a shot to win the Norris?

Mike Green is a defensive liability and he proved it numerously tonight. He makes up for it with tons of nice goals, much the same way Avatar makes up for a s***ty script with tons of nice graphics.

He was exposed tonight, as I'm sure he is most nights, for his ill-timed punches and defensive lapses. Team Canada has players that provide nearly, if not just as much offense as he does with none of the stupid.

Cant see it because of his reputation. My picks would be Keith first, then Pronger. Niedermayer sucks this year, and Lidstrom's numbers arent that of a Norris winner.

His defensive ability hasn't diminished at all, though. Despite how bad the Wings have been, he's still a +17 and performing great on the defensive end of the puck.

And Duncan Keith has been almost as productive offensively as Green this season, while playing very well defensively.

Keith will win the Norris unless Lidstrom keeps up his recent offensive 're-discovery' through the end of the season...which I think is more likely than not.

Green is a left winger on defense...no norris thanks. i like him, but he's not great defensively.

that being said, for norris candidates, they always come in 3's. mine so far this year "all around" are:

Duncan Keith

50 games - 10 goals, 35 assists - 36 pts +17

Hawks - 2nd in west.

Drew Doughty

49 games - 9 goals, 27 assists - 36 pts +12

Kings - 8th in west, non-playoff team last year.

Tyler Myers

48 games - 7 goals, 21 assists - 28 points +11

Sabres - 2nd in east, non-playoff team last year.

I keep getting told Green is underrated defensively, and yet every single time I watch him I come away thinking he is atrociously abysmal defensively (Rafalski is much better, for instance). As far as I am concerned, he is overrated defensively.
