Detroit has been the best team in the NHL consistently for over a decade and this must be a pretty welcome sight to fans of those teams that have been on the receiving end of a decade and half of s***kickings. It's got to be pretty disheartening for fans of other teams watching the Wings with the 4th lowest scoring in the league, decimated by injuries, nearly every player playing well below potential and we're STILL occupying a playoff spot as of right now. You think fans of the Hawks or Sharks want to see Detroit come in 7th or 8th? A little schadenfreude never hurt us before and it's not gonna hurt us now. I swear I counted about 50 posts last night where people were asking for the heads of management or players for losing last night. Seems that every poor outing results in fans slitting their wrists here. There is a big difference between being constructive and properly analyzing a game, and the alternative which is jumping off the ship when your team faces a little adversity. There was even a post on there where the guy said he didn't know if he wanted the wings to keep winning so the Sharks wouldn't have to play them in the first round or keep losing and hope they fall out of the playoffs instead of ending up in the 7th or 8th slot. I know that you can argue frustration and being passionate about wanting this team to win, but for as infuriating as last night's loss was - I still wouldn't throw around some of the terms that I read on here last night. To each their own, though, everyone reacts differently. I just wish we could hold a lead. We're never going to maintain a playoff spot be earning 1 point every night. Exactly.Some teams didn't won the Cup for over 30 year and the Wings won it 4 times in 12 years despite some call them 'too old and too slow'. Jealousy and frustration I guess.
