I wonder what we will all say when in 5 years when Leino is the best scorer in the NHL! hah.

We'll probably still be crying about the Great Hockey Plague of 2014 that killed off every retired, professional and junior hockey player except Ville Leino.

Tollefesn won't see any games as a wing I don't imagine but we dumped 800k and got a Fifth!

I believe Tollefsen is a RFA at the end of the year. As is Meech.

Lilja is a UFA.

I expect that Lilja will be gone at the end of the season.

I expect Lebda to be traded this week.

I expect the Defense in Training Camp next year to be:

Lids-Rafalski

Kronner-Stewie

Ericsson-Kindl

I think Meech and Tollefsen will then each be given 1-year deals, and they will fight for the 7th defense spot where the loser is waived/traded Kyle Quincey style.

These were my thoughts exactly. Except I think OKT might also be an insurance policy incase Lilly just doesn't have it anymore and we need a crease clearing, hard hitting dman to take his place.

The Plague that is being developed by rogue British hockey-playing scientists who want a return to the glory of 1936 - you heard it here first!

If this was a salary dump, ok... But all that really happened was 800K was dropped, that's peanuts. If we got something in return, sweet... That didn't happen either! I'm a lost man.

We did get something in return, alot more then we probably should have got for Leino. I think alot of people don't realize how young Ole is. He's only 25, the age most detroit prospects start playing in the NHL and he's already played over 150 NHL games. We can develop him into a great 6th defenseman. He's tough as nails and an RFA.

If we don't resign him, which I tihnk we will because he's what we lack in Detroit, we'll get another draft pick for him.

Tollefsen clears the waivers. Leino wouldn't. Dunno what the GM's are thinking...

Anyone know what role Leino will be playing in Philly?

I recall some quote from Holmgren to the effect that they're excited because he could be worked in anywhere down the lineup. So essentially, I think they're leaving it up to the coach to decide.
