Not half as amusing as the anti-American Canadian fans who went nuts for Switzerland this afternoon. You would have thought Canada had clinched the gold with the way the crowd erupted with joy when the video review disallowed the end-of-the-period goal. Actually, I am a Canadian having a conversation on an American hockey forum, exactly because I am sick of "informed" answers. Canadians as a demographic know their hockey pretty well, probably as good as anyone in the world, but when it comes to the Olympics, they are a pretty annoying bunch to listen to, every penalty is a plot against us, etc... You can't call an Olympic crowd a "Canadian" crowd, especially when vancouver is what... 2 hours from Seattle. I don't think you were so much hearing Canada cheer against the USA, more... the world cheering against the USA. Umm... if that makes you feel better. ( Also, everyone loves an underdog. Pavs has had a rough tournament, he hasn't gelled with Ovechkin or Kovalchuk. I don't know, it seems like having a pure sniper with Datsyuk doesn't really work, even when Hossa was here and scored 40 goals then didn't seem to really click well together, not even close to what he and Hank had when they were great.
