Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted April 26, 2010 (edited) Line changes at this stage could be more disruptive than positive for the Wings but do you feel Babs needs to make a change? The Yotes seem to be happy going with 3 Fwd lines and 7 D the past couple of games. Could Babs follow suit, by bringing in Lebda for his extra speed on the D and going with just 11 Fwd's. Who do you leave out if you did? The 2 least used guys are Abby and Draper, now at present Abby is bringing more to the table but can you scratch a guy with Kris's playoff experience, although Abbys face off % is alot better than Kris's. This final game of the series aint going to yeild much ice time to the 4th line guys, so it may not be a bad thing to try this option as it would also keep the main D guys a little fresher with the lesser ice time, albeit only a couple of mins off each of the top 4, it can make a huge difference. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted April 26, 2010 I'd consider giving Abdelkader top 6 time just to get his crashing and banging out there at the same time as more dangerous players. When he's causing havoc physically it opens up offensive opportunities.

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted April 26, 2010 Franzen Dats Adkel Filp Zettz Bert Miller Draper Eaves Holmstrom Helm Cleary I'd go with: Franzen Datsyuk Holmstrom (Abdelkader rotated in) Filppula Zetterberg Bertuzzi Miller Helm Eaves Abdelkader (Holmstrom) Draper Cleary
brett 1,029 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 (edited) i wouldnt change em franzen datsyuk holmstrom filppula zetterberg bertuzzi draper helm eaves abs miller cleary PP franzen datsyuk zetterberg idk about 2nd PP line. the first line should just stay out there for the 2 mins i just had a real strong feeling about williams although it will never happen. i feel like hes would be very hungry if he got put back into the lineup Edited April 27, 2010 by brett

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 Here's what I would go with: Cleary/Zetterberg/Franzen (This line has rocked in the past) Holmstrom/Datsyuk/Bertuzzi (Worked out well earlier this season) Eaves/Filppula/Williams (Solid third offensive line with good defense) Abdelkader/Helm/Miller (Very physical checking line with strong defensive ability and solid faceoff skills) Lidstrom/Lilja (Have shown very strong chemistry in the past) Kronwall/Stuart (Has worked well from day one) Meech/Rafalski (Meech is a swift skater and capable defensively. If the pair doesn't work swap Raf and Lilja.) PP: Holmstrom/Datsyuk/Williams/Lidstrom/Rafalski Filppula/Zetterberg/Franzen/Kronwall/Meech PK: Helm/Eaves/Lidstrom/Lilja Abdelkader/Miller/Kronwall/Stuart Cleary/Zetterberg

king_malice 17 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 If Doan is out again you stack the top line Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Id go with Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Zetterberg-Filppula-Abdelkader/Bertuzzi Miller-Abdelkader-Cleary Eaves-Helm-Draper id also split Rafalski and Lids spread there offensive skill out Stuart-Rafalski Kronwall-Lidstrom Lilja-Ericcson and i would start the game with Helm-Abdelkader-Eaves Kronwall-Stuart not letting the set the tempo get these guys out there fast skating some big hits right away get the Wings into the game
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 I like the idea of rotating Abdelkader into the top line. He's responsible enough that it wouldn't be too too risky, considering Phoenix doesn't have any superstars that could really take advantage of his inexperience, and he could bring an entirely new element to the top line and throw Phoenix's Number 1 line off balance at the same time. Z Winged Dangler 2,082 Report post Posted April 27, 2010 mule - Z - homer flip - dats - abby bert - helm - eaves cleary - miller - meech lids - lilja kronner - stuart rafalski - ericsson roll the lines. draper has been useless. keep rafalski ready for the PP. play him less cause he looks tired and doesn't like the yotes forcheck. Z, abby, helm and cleary gety the puck in the offensive zone and get s*** started. meech has played good when in the lineup this year and has more energy than draper at this point, and chips in the odd time too. well spent dollar, but draper's time is done. lilja has been decent, put him on with lids and it'll make him that much better. that 3rd line may surprize some people if they played together...4th line, energy and off. i agree with whoever said to put mule, Z and homer back together. it worked. and franzen will hopefully hit the net this game. big game from howard tonight.
