12/19 GDT: Stars 4 at Red Wings 3 (OT)

So disappointing. The Wings hard work earlier this season has just evaporated. I guess it was expected, but I held out hope it wouldn't come to pass. The Wings were amazing the first period, then it was even, and then they just let Dallas take over.

1) Play with more heart, like in the 1st period.

2) Stop taking stupid penalties.

And yes, I heard the screamer, it was annoying.

Rafalski let mindfly down tonight.

Guy is 40 years old and has no defensive awareness whatsoever.

are you kidding?? He made mindfly's day. Without Raf's screw up the Wings likely would've won and mindfly would've had to dig deep to find something to ***** about. Raf made it easy for him.

cant blame rafalski for the loss.

wings couldnt generate any offense in the 3rd. deserved to lose and will continue to lose with that effort.

ozzie was great. might wanna play him more.

i guess modano was way better then we thought he was, team went to s*** after he got injured

So when wings finally gets the schedule that the rest of the teams had early on they can't play good hockey, fantastic, and this team is supposed to be stanley cup contenders?

Wrong on both counts. Detroit has a game in hand, and is up by one for getting the OT point.

kindergarten math to the rescue

If the Stars don't have to trade Richards they will go far in the playoffs this year.Wings are sucking big time right now and doesn't seem like it's going to get better.I would seriously consider trading Filppula.Franzen isn't playing good even with the goal he had tonight.I don't see much from this team this year.Start of the end is happening in my opinion.

To be fair on Rafalski, he's the one that drove to the. Franzen should have stayed back but he got greedy when the puck was loose.

Agreed. There was a good scoring chance and everyone went aggressive, trying to end it. It was a crazy bounce back to turn into a 3 on 1 and I don't share the Rafalski hate. Guy has been huge time and again for the Wings.

EDIT: I hope they give Ozzie the next start. I'm tired of seeing him play well and then sit for a week.

Do teams convert odd-man rushes on a 100-percent clip against Detroit or does it just feel like it?

This reminded me of the Game 3 loss to SJ ... if you're in OT, the last thing you can afford to do is get out of position and open your team up for trouble going back. Burned them that night, burned them tonight. Bad loss.

Amazing? Really? losing a 2 goal lead is that amazing?

Pretty much seems like it. So much for finally being healthy when they can't play a complete game.
