2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET

Preds gave up a lot this deadline. 2nd round pick in 2012, 2nd round pick in 2013 and whatever they traded for Gaustad.

They did get better, but they gave up a lot in the process. They are going for it this year for sure.

They definitely improved, but I still think the Wings are better when healthy. This is sure to make the STL NASH first round series a lot of fun if that's how the standings end up.

So why keep all the cap space for? Why trade Commodore for nothing?

Kenny messed up this deadline. Sorry folks, say whatever you want, standing pat is a mistake.

Do I wish he had added some depth at forward. Yes I do.

But to say he stood pat and messed up the deadline...no. He got Quincey in to help for this season as well as long term. I think he did pretty well.

Source of Gaustad to anywhere?

Kyperos, McKenzie.

Tim Jackman gets 2yr, $612.5k deal.

Habs done, Parenteau not traded

This off-season will be better than the deadline. The deadline fun died with the lockout.

I'd have to imagine Nash is feeling pretty s***ty right now.

If it's true about the list of teams Nash gave Columbus, and that he refused to go anywhere else, then he has only himself to blame.

Gm Holland to Free Press: #redwings are done, no other moves today

...maybe he means no other moves like no other moves than the one just submitted that we haven't heard about yet..? :(

I do not really understand how every year Sharks trade their garbage for serviceable players... sometimes even for stars like Heatley, Burns, etc.

Conference competition got better - Wings stand pat. Hope one or more of Smith, Tatar, or Nyquist are ready cause its up to them to put us over the top.

once again holland lacks the balls to make a huge trade ( save the quincey deal comments) this was our last great chance to win the cup ....wasted opportunity ... ah well , lets hope we can win the cup

I will flip-s*** if Holland says in the next couple days 'getting Datsyuk back will be our deadline pick up'

One of the SportsNet guys is pretty heated about CBJ making the mistake of trying to trade Nash. I agree that he is the type of player you can build around.

so we still have:

- a mediocre PP that is desperately lacking a right-handed shooter

- a dogs*** 4th line that plays 5 minutes a night

- only 2 guys that can actually win a faceoff

wonderful.
