Wings (1) vs. Dallas (8) - should be an easy series
Canucks (2) vs. Phoenix (7) - should be easy for Van
San Jose (3) vs. Chicago (6) - gets rid of one
St. Louis (4) vs. Nashville (5) - gets rid of one
Let's hope it stays something like this by the end.

Damn Tipper... You're one of the better coaches in the league but can't you Yotes play someone else?

Chicago just lost to Dallas at home. The scariest thing about the Hawks sucking is that they might fall into 7th or 8th. We need those guys to be at 6th to knock out San Jose. The only team that we probably can't beat is San Jose.
But then again, even if say we get LA in the first round, if we have trouble against those guys, theres no chance we can get past Vancouver or San Jose.

I think LA is going to make it to 7th. That way we have to get 1st place to avoid them and play Phoenix/Dallas (walk in the park) instead.

Of course we can get by San Jose if we come to play, but we'd be runnin on fumes and beat to s***.

I'm very confident at this point that LA makes the playoffs, and considering that I put Quick in my top 3 Vezina nominees, he's a game-changing goaltender that can be trouble for any team.
I do think our squad this season can get past San Jose or Vancouver in the playoffs, I just prefer not to play either if it can be avoided.

I do too, but...I still have the same bipolar issue I had at the beginning of the season: Sometimes I look at our roster and think, "Holy Crap, we have no scorers on this team!"; Other times I look at the same roster and think, "Holy Jumpin, any one of these guys can go off at any time!".
I'd like to see them at their best in playoffs and let the chips fall where they may. Well, I guess I really don't want to see them lose to San Jose,...or Vancouver,...ok, or Chicago. Awh f***, I've never been so stressed about this team before.

After Alex Burrows mimed snapping his stick over his knee last night in reference to the Wing's streak being snapped... I want to play him at some point. I'd snap him. God that pissed me off for some reason, more so than the actual streak ending. Although I'd be very glad if someone like the Yotes could do it first
Yet I think we need to play one of the Nucks or the Sharks to win it. I don't think a team can really have an easy ride to the finals and then expect to win it against a team who's had stiffer competition. I guess I don't want to 'coast'
EDIT: Spelling
why? we did in '08.

the best part was that assclown not being able to snap his stick. i hope we hear today that hes out a couple games with a bruised knee or something.

I like our chances against everyone but the Nucks.

1. Being as Dallas-Calgary-LA are all tied at 66 pts with 61 games played it's too early to make any 1st round predictions. But yeah, since we're on the subject, I really love the idea of St Louis and Nashville pounding on each other in 1st round. Also love the SJ-Chicago matchup.
2. There's nothing wrong with coasting. Easy match-ups worked in 08. Conversely, the 2nd round Anaheim series in 09 followed by Chicago killed us in 09. I like two easy (relatively speaking)series and one tough one before the finals. It's essential that Detroit earns a sweep or can beat someone in 5 games. 1st in the West is as important this year as it's ever been. It's actually nice that the regular season has some meaning.

1,4,5,6 is probable, but you can't have a 1 & 3 from same division.I love all those matchups as of now. As of now would love for us to face Dallas and or Phoenix again. Way to early to tell though where everyone will finish up, including us. Gotta think though the "Central" teams will probably finish 1, 3, 4 and 5 or 3, 4, 5 and 7th or 8th. The log jam in the "Central" makes things all the more interesting as I expect to see St. Louis, Nashville and Chicago all making the playoffs minus a collapse. That leaves 4 other teams to make it. Vancouver, San Jose, LA, and Phoenix? We shall see
