A tentative agreement has been reached between NHL and NHLPA - source

Sportsnet learned 64.3m final cap hit.

Reported details: 10-year CBA with out after eight; contracts limited to seven years, eight to re-sign; $64.3M cap in '13-14.

More details to come. I'm going to sleep. Thank you all and here's to a new Red Wings season

Small hiccup:

Definitely need to point out that the language needs to be completed and both the owners and players need to ratify it.

Bettman was apparently under intense pressure by major sponsors to get a deal done

Training camp could start this week.

Season start still to be determined says league source

Im glad, but at the same time pissed off. Half the season gone, no Winter Classic, no AllStar-weekend.. The fans should get free passes to NHL Center Ice ;)

Btw - what will happen with the WC now? Will it still be Wings Toronto next..? Anyone?

Well, Bettman "promised" that it would be Wings/Leafs next season.

He also "promised" us a move to the Eastern Conference, so take that for what it's worth. Probably will just end up another Pittsburgh Classic next New Years.
