I read on MLive that Jimmy is fighting an injury and they called up McCollum just in case. They talked as if it was common knowledge that Jimmy was hurt.

Does anyone have any more info on this?

I think this is a stupid question. At this point in the season EVERYONE is hurt or sore. Now does he have something major? Idk he didn't look like it.

This is the only other thing I've seen alluding to him being injured.  It's from before yesterday's game.

Howard didn't practice with team, was on ice earlier. Holland said he is playing tonight.

Do they still have Pearce?  I think he's still around.

Now that I think about it, the Griffins don't start the 2nd round until Wednesday.

I don't care if he is hurt or not. He is playing Game 7. An injured Howard is still probably better than the other options.

Ummm Kinda...

Western Conference Semifinal
TORONTO vs. GRAND RAPIDS
series tied 1 - 1
Game 1 - Fri May 10 7:00 PM Grand Rapids 7, TORONTO 0
Game 2 - Sat May 11 3:00 PM TORONTO 4, Grand Rapids 2
Game 3 - Wed May 15 7:00 PM Toronto at Grand Rapids
Game 4 - Fri May 17 7:00 PM Toronto at Grand Rapids
Game 5 - Sat May 18 7:00 PM Toronto at Grand Rapids
Game 6 - Tue May 21 7:00 PM * Grand Rapids at Toronto
Game 7 - Wed May 22 7:00 PM * Grand Rapids at Toronto

Logic would say if Howard is hurt Monster starts and McCallum is the backup I would think no?

If that we're the case I'd say Anaheim wins game 7 I have very little confidence in Gufstason. Or care to spell his name right.

Last I saw, the move was to have Monster & McCollum on the ice for practice to limit the chances of anything happening to Jimmy.

McCollum was listed in the boxscore on nhl.com last night as being a healthy scratch...along with the goalie we signed from NMU

That makes total sense.

No Monster ... sorry but he is way too inconsistent and fragile.  Just checked, we got him signed for another year.   :eh:

If you listened to the commentary on FSN, they keep Jimmy off the ice when it's humid so he doesn't get dehydrated.

That's why he didn't practice the other day in D. Perhaps the weather and crappy ice in Anaheim are the reason.
