Travis 576 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 I'm kind of bummed, I have tickets for tomorrow. Bought them Monday and was hoping to see him play. Shucks! That's understandable, but Nyquist or no Nyquist - that team is FUN to watch.

Vladiator 116 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) Yeah I can't remember the last time I've been able to watch a post game! Thoughts....Gus did what he had to do to prove that he belongs with the big club. Unfortunately, I don't think the Wings can risk keeping him up because of the injuries on the D until Holland can move players and free up more cap space (good luck with that as it seems that no GM will deal with Holland anymore). Cleary.... am I wrong for wishing that Babs and Holland suddenly become allergic to Viagra and can no longer keep a hard on for Cleary? Yeah that's wishful thinking. WingsAlways 486 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 I love this pic. The Hurricane guy is the eye of the Swedish National Team Dance Party Storm. Franzen looks as if he's hugging the Hurricane player. He probably did just because he's Franzen.

joesuffP 1,746 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 Nice try I was confused by the posters above saying he had tickets to the next game but was disappointed Nyquist wouldn't be there so I thought I was missing something but he was referring to seeing the Griffins game
Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 Something that's not getting enough attention and props: our special teams. Definitely a major strength for us right now.
matthewdanna 143 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 I don't want to see Cleary play another game. His slow, uncoordinated, clumbsy ass and his plethora of bad first touches, fumbled scoring opportunities, and offensive zone turnovers need to go. I would rather Pavs line have to play a man down than watch Cleary ruin one more of his shifts. He's awful, it's time for the brass to admit that he doesn't add anything. Sammy lacking as usual. Nyquist, Pav, Z, and the whole Helm, Tatar, Abby line looked awesome. When Weiss and Alfy are back I say we do one of 2 things... Weiss-Pav-Mule Nyquist-Z-Alf Tatar-Helm-Abby Bert-Andy-Miller then put Pav & Z back together and roll out Z-Pav-Bert Mule-Weiss-Alf (give it one more try) Tatar-Helm-Nyquist (PLEASE GOD, let me see this at least once!) Miller-Andy-Abby
Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 So for Gus to stay up, Kenny has to let loose another forward? So we should see some sort of roster movement in the next 24 hrs. We all know that Nyqvist should be at the club but its a numbers game and has Kenny got the minerals to do it, wait and see I guess.

There will be some sort of movement, I bet they'll be burning up the wires tomorrow trying to get a trade, I think the fans will turn if goose isn't in the lineup against Ottawa. They were chanting his name at the Joe tonight. Nev 1,085 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 Dabura mentioned our special teams - we're 9th in PP and 3rd in PK. Considering how problematic they've both been the last few seasons, that's mighty impressive.
frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 Gus and Gus with a fantastic showing happy for both. Also Z with 3 points quie impressive. now hopefullythey can start some sort of a winning streak.
Andrew Hasek 1986 23 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 Maybe what they should do is trade #11 back to Ottawa if he doesn't pickup his game. This team needs to quite signing these old Vets cause they never play the way they can and should. #11 should start paying like his worth his 5.5 Million dollars if not he should give some of that money back to the team like Hasek did a few years back. I wish players would start playing like Maurice The Rocket Richard did & Gordie Howe did two players that give 150% every game. Players like #11 are here for the money and not the Stanley Cup if for the Cup he'd give 150% every game. These guys are professionals they need to start playing like they deserve to be in the NHL! The New NHL is bad. Their was nothing wrong with the 90's NHL Game! I say get rid of #11 & #90 what have they done lately? But get Injured! They shouldn't have signed them they should have signed #24 and #51 and bought back the same team they had last season. The Coach needs to start coaching for once and he needs to start being more like Scotty Bowmen was and start showing some tough love to these supposed to be Detroit Red Wings Players. I'm very happy that Detroit Red Wings Won Finally they need to keep it up.

He has 14 pts. in 19 Games and is our third leading scorer. Take a lap. 4 Nev, matthewdanna, roboturner and 1 other reacted to this
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 Do the Wings actually have to do a move right now to keep Gus up? I was under the impression they didn't have to. Weiss/Alfie are not on LTIR so their salary still counts, but do we get too many bodies if they both come back? If so could maybe Sammy be waived just to clear a spot, and if no one else is injured by the time Danny D comes back it's bye Cleary?
Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 Why...?Maybe to get another Calder Cup MVP award I was thinking to put some more size on. He gets pushed around a bit too much for my liking. I think if he were a little bigger, he would be MUCH more effective along the boards. I understand that's not really his game, but I think it would help him out. kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 It just occurred to me: we have a second line now!!! Yeah, at the cost of the first line. Once Alfie and Weiss are back though...
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted November 22, 2013 I know it makes roster sense to send Nyquist back down, but what's the point? Holland would only delay the inevitable. No one will trade with us. No one. So no matter what, unless he wants to wait until February or whenever to call Nyquist up again, he has to waive someone. It sucks to lose someone for nothing, but we've got a plethora of players who can be called up in a crunch. Of course we all want to see Cleary and Sammy waived, but that won't happen. Likely Andersson gets waived to make room for Nyquist and someone else to make room for a defenseman if Lashoff isn't better for the next game. We can dump a few players because we can always call up Eavea or Tootoo or some kids. Which makes me wonder if Miller is waive bait, despite having a good year. Babs loves him as a 4th line center as do I. I think if someone gets waived it will most likely be miller

I'm pretty sure they dont have to make a move just yet but I'd say they probably want more than 6 d men up just in case.. so a move soon is very possible. Trying to validate your point using Alfredsson is even more fail. The guy is only out pointed by Pav and Z. He was brought in to be secondary scoring not lead the team. So common sense dictates that if hes only behind Pav and Z, who are expected to lead the team in scoring, then he is 100% fulfilling his job as secondary scoring. Keeping Brunner, he of 7 pts over half of which came in the first 3 games, and Fil would not have moved this team forward. They needed changes from a stale roster and at-least made an attempt at it. Please try again though. 2 ben_usmc and Ekmanc reacted to this
