Hockeymom1960 5,107 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 I don't get how Mickey talks about Smith having a bad night. It isn't because of his defense, it's his defensive partner that has been brutal.
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 but this is why you start on time as Babs says Isn't it partially the coach's fault if the team is not consistently "starting on time"?
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 Please no more home games against bad teams ever again. That is my Christmas hockey wish. Actually, make that no more home games, period. Also, a cure for our team-wide rickets. thx

GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 Isn't it partially the coach's fault if the team is not consistently "starting on time"? Oh for sure. It's mind-boggling how many poor starts (especially at home) the Wings have, given how much Babs preaches it.

Z Winged Dangler 2,082 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 I don't get how Mickey talks about Smith having a bad night. It isn't because of his defense, it's his defensive partner that has been brutal. I think he was referring to the bumps and bruises aspect. Nice penalty by Tuzzi….brutal. Quincey's Christmas present to Wings fans, 1 more -3 performance to cap off 2013. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 Isn't it partially the coach's fault if the team is not consistently "starting on time"? Babcock has immunity. Any other coach would be worried about his job in a league where firings happen at the drop of a hat. The team is badly hurt, but they're not even playing hard every game. That's the main issue. 1 datterberg1340 reacted to this

DatsyukToZetterberg 128 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 One bad 5-minute stretch was all it took to put this team away. Pathetic.
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 Isn't it partially the coach's fault if the team is not consistently "starting on time"? It is. Although Randy Carlyle makes a pretty good argument - that it's really not the coach's job to always be getting his troops pumped up and engaged. They're grown men. They should be taking care of things like that themselves. I really have to wonder if these grown men are tuning Babs out.
MabusIncarnate 5,359 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 Look on the bright side, we are only on a 1 game losing streak right now.. We need to get healthy, bottom line. DatsyukToZetterberg 128 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 Another thing I notice is that this team is piss-poor in games right before a long break. And I mean more brutal than usual.
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 We need to get healthy, bottom line. Totally agree. ...And yet, I can see a fully healthy Wings team putting in this same kind of performance. We've been doing this terrible-against-terrible-teams act for a long time. 2 WingsAlways and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

gowings00 545 Report post Posted December 24, 2013 (edited) By far the worst performance by this team. To only play 20 min is a disgrace and they deserved to be boooed at home. If changes aren't made (benching Cleary and Quincey) then Babs and Holland are clearly not concerned about winning every game.
