SimonSin 192 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 My bad, I said the Canadians lost but they're still playing. Don't know why I thought that game was over. They're down 3-2 in the third period.

barabbas16 499 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 That's where we are at with this lineup..we can play a pretty good game which we did tonight and still lose against good teams. We used to be good enough where we could play at 60% all night and still win..those days are long gone. Playing a pretty good game often gets cancelled out when you regularly give up goals in the last minute. Whether healthy or not, they have got to figure out how to stop crapping their collective pants on the ice at the very end of games.

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 I hope either Babcock or Holland go after the season. I could care less what they've accomplished in the past. The players don't respond to Babcock anymore and Holland hasn't made a good move in a long time. I hope they both go.
kipwinger 8,755 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 You know how Babs' coaching strategy is aimed at keeping the games close and winning low scoring games? Wouldn't it carry more wanter if we didn't lose every single low scoring game? Every single one. If that strategy worked for this team, as Babs' if fond of telling everyone, then why doesn't it work for this team?

If that strategy worked for this team, as Babs' if fond of telling everyone, then why doesn't it work for this team? I don't know how he can be coaching this strategy with our D-corps we currently have... his strategy should be to keep the puck out of zone as much as possible, no matter the score... and to score as many goals as possible, no matter how injury plagued our current compliment of forwards happen to be. Also, telling Jimmy to freeze the puck and pull in as many rebounds as possible would be great too. You know, hockey basics. brett 1,029 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 disappointing especially on lids night legwand looked good defensively so close to winning most games. one move on defense for a top 4 guy and this team probably has another 10pts by now. where we dont blow 3rd period leads to lose in reg or OT and can win a 2-1 game. Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 We're half the team we are when Datsyuk AND Zetterberg are out. It's just that simple. Thing is, we still suck with either or both in the lineup. We suck less, yes, but it's not like the only times we blow games are when neither one's in the lineup. On a side note, I love, love, LOVE that we stood pat with our blue line. We are absolutely going to win the Cup with Kronwall and Ericsson playing like a second pairing and Quincey ruining DeKeyser. I hate this season so ******* much. 1 Cloune reacted to this
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted March 7, 2014 Teams make coaching changes when it's time to make a change. Not because someone is or isn't a better coach. I doubt Berube is a better coach than Laviolette, but the Flyers felt like it was time to make a move. Every coach gets canned at some point. Babcock might be the best coach in hockey, but the team has slipped under him and Kenny the last few years. I think if we miss the playoffs, it's time to make a change. 1 sjr2012 reacted to this

None. Nada. Zip. Zlich. Zero. We were pioneers in the arts of poaching Russians and drafting obscure Swedes and playing a possession-driven game. Now we need to be pioneers in trading for defensemen when no one is trading for a defenseman.
