Usually I wouldn't write this team off for making the playoffs, but without Z for 7-8 weeks, I'm not liking our complete lack of leadership. Alfredsson's been a sleeper since the Olympics ended, Ericsson's been terrible, Kronner's been on-off-on-off... Howard has been bad this year. Dats is gone for 2 more weeks.

Basically without Z, our team is like an Army without their General.

Clock is ticking, injuries keep piling up and the Wings are losing games to teams they are in direct competition with in the standings. Plus the schedule is brutal if they were healthy, let alone with this AHL roster.

Honestly, we were playing just as bad and losing just as many games when Hank and Dats were in the lineup.

This is Smith's fault. We could have had a 5 minute PP, but instead we had a 2 minute PP (which they scored immediately after).

Alfredsson's been a sleeper since the Olympics ended, Ericsson's been terrible, Kronner's been on-off-on-off... Howard has been bad this year. Dats is gone for 2 more weeks.

Basically without Z, our team is like an Army without their General.

There's a pretty good chance Dats is gone for way more than that. They're waiting 3 weeks to see if there's any chance he doesn't need surgery. Because if he does, that's his season.

We're facing healthy teams playing at 110% trying to make the playoffs. We're broken down, playing with plugs, losing new guys every game, shuffling lines, playing kids... and like you say, we are without our two leaders. The two guys that can carry this team through most things.

A miracle is what can save the playoffs streak now, nothing else.

I'm not trying to be negative. But this is the best goaltending performance we've had in a while and we're down 3-1. We are without our 4 centers that started the year and our captain. The East is too tight, and we pissed away too many points early in the year. Saying we aren't going to make the playoffs isn't pessimistic at this point, it's facts.
