hillbillywingsfan 792 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 He basically just said how they've brought in all these different consultants and coaches, the players need to execute better. hahahaha wow. This is not going to turn out well for the Oil. hahaha wow...
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 When you say you've got 4 coaches that are preaching the same message and the result isn't changing, how in the ever living f*** do you not question whether the message isn't just f***ed to hell??? 4 guys supposedly preaching the same thing and it all boils down to lack of execution??? I'd totally buy that execution is part of it, but come on... 2 frankgrimes and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 Wow. Now he's basically saying don't blame me, I've only been on the job for 20 months. That all his losses as coach was the fault of management, which he had no control over. 1 hillbillywingsfan reacted to this

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 Now it's Taylor Hall and Eberle's responsibility to demand more accountability from the team. unbelievable. 1 nyqvististhefuture reacted to this
nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 Man that was a joke ... I feel bad for the oilers fans , so basically it's let's keep doing the same thing and mactavish is telling the media not to blame him cause he's only been on the job for 20 months Sad

That all his losses as coach was the fault of management, which he had no control over. If the Wings acted like this after being a bottom feeder team for the last 6 years, I probably would have become a Florida Panthers fan. Calling out the players? No change to management? I suppose because Edmonton tickets are selling well, then the owner doesn't see a need to change. Maybe Connor McDavid will be savior.

frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 This was really something else in a bad way to sum it up: 1. it's all the players fault 2. MacTavish and company haven't been on the job long enough 3. Eakins is progressing ...ya well Krueger had 7 months ? and accomplished much morei n a shorter period of time.. 1 hillbillywingsfan reacted to this

Mcdavid goes there it won't change anything , they still can't draft players after the top 3 picks , they got no defense or goaltending I don't want them to land mcdavid , they don't deserve him
frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 Seriously they don't deserve McDavid such a clueless and full of their past glorydays management doesn't deserve that kind of talent (the fans do obviously). But after all the struggles and BS Buffalo had to go through pre Pegula I would be very happy seeing them getting the next generational talent. At least their management is competent and doesn't put all the blame on some ~ 20 year old players ... disgusting 2 hillbillywingsfan and nyqvististhefuture reacted to this

DatsyukianDekes 2,428 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) So basically, they are tanking for McDavid. If I was an Oiler fan, I would stop going to games. What's the point? Edited December 5, 2014 by darkmanx

That's always been my opinion. But that's an entirely different discussion.
sleepwalker 512 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 lol What was the point of the press conference? You'd think it would have been best to just keep your mouth shut than to hold a lame press conference that does nothing except infuriate all of your fans... Hockeymom1960 5,107 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) A bunch off****** morons that don't know how to manage an NHL hockey team. Fire them all!!!! Trade some guys, i.e. Hall, Nugent-Hopkins. Sheesh how hard is it? Edited December 6, 2014 by Hockeymom1960
Red Crazy 201 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 Hall should walk into Mac T's office this afternoon and demand a trade. It might be the best thing that happened to the Oilers in a long time. Would force them to act instead of pointing fingers at whos to blame. Sad times for Oilers fans.

GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted December 5, 2014 I don't live in Edmonton, but I'm guessing people will go to games regardless of what their record is, because it's hockey and it's in Edmonton. If people stop going to games then management and ownership's hands will be forced to make drastic changes.
Guest Playmaker Report post Posted December 5, 2014 Yeah, why didn't they think of that? Fire everyone and trade everyone. Running a professional hockey team is so easy. Why doesn't everyone do it?

Why doesn't everyone do it? Kind of makes a person appreciate the Red Wings sustained level of success over the last 20-some years. As far as the Oilers situation goes, as embarrassing as it is to think about, I feel like their only strategy is continue to disappoint in the hopes of drafting McDavid, Eichel, or Hanifin.
