GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted June 14, 2015 Why because it's true? Michael Leighton..... I don't need to say anything Tuuka Rask- backup till Thomas quit Bishop- good goalie, but he was a backup for the most part While Mrazek was a backup it's not like he's been a backup forever, he's what, 22? And besides we all know he's better than Jimmy The Hawks also won three series prior to the Final each year. It's not like this whole backup goalie theory is the reason they are winning it all. They are really good and well-coached.

chicagooverrated 65 Report post Posted June 14, 2015 Tampa has yet to lose a game 6 and game 7 this year so it's not over but they'll need to step up their game. they lost game 6 at home to the rangers 7-3 of course they won the game after though. Its true because you say it is? Great logic. Lol I get that you're jealous of the Hawks. But it's ridiculous how you can attribute their success to luck and facing so called backup goalies. Bias can paint an ugly picture sometimes. Why would I be jealous of the hawks? We have 11 Stanley cups and will win next year anyway But yea, it's just a coincidence that Chicago won it's 3 2010 a stacked team against Michael Leighton, 2013 in a shortened season this year against an injured bishop. But yea that's bias and not fact

Rhah 195 Report post Posted June 15, 2015 The Hawks also won three series prior to the Final each year. It's not like this whole backup goalie theory is the reason they are winning it all. They are really good and well-coached. I will give Hawks their credit. But, well-coached isn't throwing dart boards at line changes and if they work out taking all the credit. This is the same coach that benched Teraveinen and Vermette for Versteeg and Joakim Norstrom against Ducks in game 3 and lost. He also messed with the lines in game 3 or 4 (can't remember which) in Chicago and the new linemates were smashing into each other and falling down on the ice (Versteeg) to try and get Kane more speed on his line. Forum posters are just as good at jumbling lines and hoping for the best before games... just read some of the complaint threads on this board. And yes, before someone calls me out for not liking Q (like you felt the need to do against chicagooverrated), you are right. I think Q is in a lucky situation and before that was just a regular good coach. Not a super coach like everyone makes him out to be.

I don't know what you are referring to where I called someone else out, but I don't disagree with you entirely. Still, Q has done a nice job balancing his four lines and getting his best players on the ice. That may sound too simplistic, but sometimes coaches get too caught up in matching lines and overthink situations. I think Babcock was very guilty of that in Detroit at times. Q has a ton of talent to work with, no question. So did Scotty Bowman in Detroit. You still have to execute and game plan. Three cups in six seasons isn't easy to pull off even with a stacked roster. But yea that's bias and not fact Tampa beat Price and Lundqvist. As I've said before, top goalies don't play for the best teams anymore. This isn't the late 90's, when you needed a big named goalie to win Cups. Chicago has beaten good opponents. They would have an even easier time against a Rangers team with no offense and an elite goalie.

Oh, sorry, GoWings... I quoted part of your post just the coaching part that I had different opinion on. The other parts were just referring to others in the thread. Chicago is abuzz, and rightfully so, today. But, their lack of humility on the radio and from fans is a bit sickening. They pretty much think its going to end tonight. Talking about how they haven't clinched the cup on home ice since like the 1940's. They think the script is going just as they planned, typical lackadaisical Hawks pitter-pattering early in series and then buckling down in the meaningful games. Would just love for them to get knocked down a a peg or two (the fans and radio, not the players, they are calm and respectful as usual, damn Captain Serious and doing everything right ). 1 GoWings1905 reacted to this

Rhah 195 Report post Posted June 15, 2015 (edited) Got in car for lunch. The topic was who Toews is going to hand cup off to first. Really wish Bolts weren't so banged up. Healthy team demolishes the Squawks considering it's this close now with goalie hurt and top scorer of finals obviously hurt. Kucherov with hurt shoulder now? So funny I hated TB so much a month ago.
