3 Bold Predictions for 2015-16

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Hopefully this will be something fun for a boring Monday morning.

The Rules: You get THREE predictions for the whole league. They need to be BOLD but not fantastical (based on your discretion and subject to LGW scrutiny), and you can't use a paragraph and a half to explain each one. Keep it short, simple, and BOLD. Any shenanigans should be immediately called out by the LGW faithful

I'll start.

1. Kessel scores less than 35 goals on Crosby's wing.

2. The Florida Panthers make the playoffs, the Canadiens don't.

3. Neither McDavid, nor Eichel, win the Calder Cup (but I don't know who does).

Here's my predictions, all Red Wings related because... F*** other teams...

1. Pulkkinen leads the Red Wings in both power-play goals and total goals on the year.

2. Howard gets nominated and plays in the All-Star game and is in the Vezina conversation at the end of the season.

3. Zetterberg plays in 80 games and puts up 70+ points, which is good for second in team scoring.

3 bold predictions off the top of my head.

1. Dylan Larkin will lead the Red Wings in points.

2. Justin Faulk will win the Norris trophy.

3. The Penguins, despite being the highest scoring team in the league, will miss the playoffs.

I was actually going to say the same about the Pens, but I thought Montreal would be a bigger stretch and I only had three predictions. But I agree, they won't make it.

Justin Faulk is a good one. He's got all the talent, but on that team?

1. The Islanders win the Presidents Trophy.

2. Kings win their 3rd SC in the last 6 years.

3. Streak ends. Yup.

Yeesh. Bold indeed. These are the kinds of predictions I like. Risky, but not entirely out of the realm of possibility. That said, I don't agree with any of them lol.

You only asked for 3, but here is a 4th: Mantha will play at a 30 goals in 50 games pace for GR. When Franzen gets his next concussion (one that I hopes he decides to retire and not end up in a vegatative state) somewhere before he plays 40 games, Mantha is called up and scores 20+ goals for the RW's.

1. Larkin gets sent down when Dats/Helm return, but the next time he gets called up he stays up for good
2. Green returns to prominence and makes the ASG
3. Boston gets a top-3 draft pick from the lotto

1) Kessel wins the Rocket Richard

2) Bertuzzi gets called up in January due to an injury, and plays well enough they can't send him down

3) Sam Bennet leads the Flames in scoring and wins the Calder

McDavid, Eichel, AND Larkin might have something to say about that.

5) Babcock wins Jack Adams
