Bill Berzeench 310 Report post Posted January 11, 2016 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Not my Drew! oh well, at least it buys Kenny a little more time... but ewww, that means Andersson is back in, huh? The Drew is down. Holland is so bad at his job. wings4thecup06 504 Report post Posted January 11, 2016 Well. Convenient that Miller might be out, but this does not remove the long term problem that remains. I support KH, but there have definitely been a few questionable contracts he signed - tbf though, I've never been a fan of Kindl, I've always thought he was too soft and didn't have what it takes. I hope he gets a shot elsewhere in the NHL though, but he was just another soft player on a blue line that needs some physicality or high end offensive guys. Still. KH needs to solve this once and for all. Quincey shouldn't be re-signed - if he is, it'll have to be a decent pay cut so wqe don't have this issue. This is what worries me about the Abdelkader contract. It's too much money and the Wings will be hands tied soon.....
greenrebellion 415 Report post Posted January 11, 2016 We can't keep handing out stupid contracts to all this homegrown talent. Abby, Kindl, Ericsson,.... Let's hope Helm doesn't get a monster deal.

This is what I'm worried about long term. Ericsson is a solid D man, but the money he has got, with the term, will handcuff us down the road. Just like I think it will with Abby. I love him, but I still think it's too much.

Bill Berzeench 310 Report post Posted February 23, 2016 He's part of the trade package, tho? Howard, Kindl, Cleary, Miller, and Richards for PK Subban. I thought this was a sure thing. 1 F.Michael reacted to this

Jesusberg 1,256 Report post Posted February 24, 2016 That's twice now that no one's taken the bait. I know it's a long shot, but I wonder if contract termination is an option? Why would he walk away from 2.4M next year, etc? I get that. I'm just curious about the option. I'm not 100% clear on the rules. If I'm not mistaken, he wouldn't be able to sign in the NHL next season, correct? He could probably get decent money overseas, though. No real reason to think this is even possible, as he'll probably just ride it out in GR and collect his money next season. VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted February 24, 2016 Yeah he will ride it out. How much could be realistically make overseas? Probably not as much.
