solarion 118 Report post Posted September 27, 2019 lol Pace yourself CRL. Filip would have to blow chunks hardcore for at least a few seasons before he'd deserve comparisons to Nail Yakufail. He's been a bit disappointing...not a complete dumpster fire. As an aside, one has to wonder if things would've been different for Yakupov had he been drafted by a team that isn't stuck in perma-tank mode. Things we'll never know... Zadina was clearly butt-hurt when the Habs didn't draft him. Yzerman should help him fulfill his dreams and swap him for Drouin. 1 Mckinley25 reacted to this
solarion 118 Report post Posted September 27, 2019 (edited) He was projected as high as 3rd. I haven't gotten the attitude vibe from Zadina at all. ...unlike ******...er...Drouin. Zadina looks like a bit of a dink for being cocky after he was drafted and not really backing it up on the ice, but it's not like he's slacking off. He's working hard, just not getting results. Frustration leading to some mental lapses. His problems should be solvable. Hey didn't he vow to fill Montreal's net with pucks for not drafting him? lol You'd think he could've been a bit more philosophical about it...the Habs were after a much needed center with their top pick. Not like they snubbed him for another winger. By the same token he should probably be thanking Dorion for taking Tkachuck. A rebuilding Wings team is one thing, but I can't imagine anyone wanting to go to Ottawa. Edited September 27, 2019 by solarion
ChristopherReevesLegs 7,022 Report post Posted September 27, 2019 Wings cut roster by 9 Quote DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today assigned goaltender Kaden Fulcher to the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye and released forwards Matthew Ford, Josh Kestner, Troy Loggins and Tyler Spezia; defensemen Marcus Crawford, Charle-Edouard D’Astous and Alec McCrea; and goaltender Pat Nagle from their tryouts. Ford, Loggins and McCrea are expected to report to the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins, while Crawford, D’Astous, Kestner, Nagle and Spezia will join Toledo. The Red Wings currently have 48 players on their preseason roster: 28 forwards, 16 defensemen and four goaltenders. Detroit currently holds a 3-2-2 record in the preseason, which will wrap up with back-to-back games against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at Little Caesars Arena (FOX Sports Detroit Plus / WWJ 950 AM) and Saturday at Scotiabank Arena (NHL Network). 1 krsmith17 reacted to this

Hey didn't he vow to fill Montreal's net with pucks for not drafting him? lol It's almost like he stopped developing the moment we drafted. This entire preseason he has been slow, weak, and skating with his head down looking at the puck. You can see there are hands there, and you can see there is effort there, but his brain is stupid and his body is weak. When he finishes this season in the AHL he will be 6 months away from 21, and if he has less than 50 pts and less than 30 goals and is still getting out scored by Carter Camper he's gonna start smelling extra stinky for a 6th overall... solarion 118 Report post Posted September 27, 2019 That's fair. A lot of kids come into the league full of themselves and then get a rude awakening. After his stint up with the team last year, he probably should've been working harder on his strength/conditioning in the off season. I can cut him some slack if he gets it going this year given that he's not even 20 yet. Dumb kids gonna dumb, but he needs to get stronger. I can't imagine it'd be fun watching Larkin being a boss on the ice after being drafted 9 places higher. Larkin is all of what 40 months older than Zadina? Plus, now he's likely being passed by Veleno on the depth chart. If this kid has a shred of pride he's going to be busting his behind to clean this stuff up. If not, he doesn't belong in the NHL. solarion 118 Report post Posted September 28, 2019 (edited) Smith didn't take kindly to be pushed around at the edge of the crease. Good fight, in an otherwise fairly lame game. Hopefully that gets the energy up. This'd probably be 4-2ish without Bernier isn't playing great. Beauty of an outlet pass by Seider behind his own net with a Leaf draped all over him. Epic back check by Veleno, who's seemingly out there constantly. May have saved a goal on that one. Edited September 28, 2019 by solarion

mackel 768 Report post Posted September 28, 2019 9 hours ago, krsmith17 said: Like I've said previously, I'm completely fine with all 4 of Rasmussen, Veleno, Zadina and Svechnikov starting in GR. I'll definitely be tuning into a lot more Griffins hockey again this season. I wouldn't hate Seider and Cholowski starting down either, but it's looking like Cholo may be pushing his way on the big club again (at least to start), which is also fine by me. Zadina may be better suited for deployment in Toledo. 5 hours ago, ChristopherReevesLegs said: Pretty boy shoulda been named "Fill-up Zaginas" Zadina was clearly butt-hurt when the Habs didn't draft him. solarion 118 Report post Posted September 28, 2019 Yeah, they'd no business being in a shootout. They sucked most of the game and were totally dominated 3v3. Svech, Seider, Smith, and Turgeon were standouts for me. ...and of course Bernier without whom it'd have been a massacre. Veleno had a couple good plays...no major gaffs that I noticed. Zadina was pretty much invisible. Hicketts had a rough game being pushed around a lot and a couple giveaways. 6 minutes ago, Y19 said: Wings with the shootout loss. 1 Y19 reacted to this
