Thats my point.  If Larkin is worth 8 mil, Debrincat is worth NO MORE than 5 mil per.  If we give Debrincat 8x8 in a sign and trade, we will be regretting it the day he separates his shoulder in preseason game #3 because he didnt do sh!t the entire off season.  Keep drafting and keep losing until 2024 draft is over.  THEN start competing hard.  Getting one more 1st for the 2024 draft and finishing bottom 5 should be our m.o. for 2023.  Not signing longterm s*** contracts to players who would completely suck in the playoffs if the team got there.

Don’t worry, Scott. He’s from Detroit so he will certainly make it his home in the offseason and not be poncing off to europe

I might as well get used to him.  But here's what I would do: 

1) Zadina + McIsaac + 3rd to Ottawa for Debrincat on 8 years/7 mil per.

2) Debrincat(50% retained) + Viro to Dallas for Stankoven, Harley, 2024 1st

Wings pay 28 mil over 8 years for Stars 2nd best fw prospect, best d prospect, and late first rounder.  Dallas ends up witj Debrincat for 3.5 mil per for 8 years.
