I think that everyone is quite disappointed that the Wings blew a 3-1 series lead. But did you watch the season opener against the Blues? That game was like watching an NHL team playing an ECHL team.  Did you watch the Hawks blow away the Wings in Game 1 of this series and for the most part everyone wrote this series off as a Hawk’s sweep?

 

This season has been the roller coaster season that probably nobody could have ever predicted. You have to remember that the Wings had to win their last four games of the season because the Wild and Jackets did the same thing. The Wings also lost their two top D in the off season.

 

I've been a fan for over 20 years (and I have probably watched more games than most of you on this forum) and I have never witnessed the adversity that this team has gone through this year with the loss of top players and the injuries that basically kept two of the top six forwards out for the whole shortened season.  

 

This team didn't lose any assets at the trade deadline and still pushed into a Game 7 in the second round of the playoffs. Not too shabby if you ask me. Going forward, the Wings can get rid of a few contracts and have the picks for a few trades, and have some cap room to improve a younger team that is only going to improve with the opportunities that they have been given this season and into the playoffs. The future looks quite bright for the Wings.

I mean is anyone in shock right now? I mean I'm sitting here happy as hell but I amf****** shocked! To me this series STILL isn't over but who would have thought we'd be up 3-1 against the "best team in hockey" in the second round. Unrea 

Surprised the Wings made the playoffs; Amazed the Wings made it to the second round; and yes Shocked the Wings are up 3-1 after watching game 1. This team has no quit. So fun to watch now.

Please, Please Please a different broadcasting crew tonight. I can't take that nasally play by play guy anymore. Seriously, waffleboarding? Only reason I'm not watching this game on mute tonight is because it's at the Joe.  Hopefully the crowd at the Joe can drown these clowns out.

OMG..... Edzo covering a Hawks game against the Wings? My ears are already starting to bleed.

considering the injuries and rookies this year the wings did awesome. theyre only 3pts from the 3rd place canucks 

 

Per Babs in the post game interview, "We don't get Dekeyser, we don't make the playoffs".

I think its good to let the first game sink in a bit for DD. He played great, but I think we shouldn't put the pressure on him to be a constant starter right away. I think give him a game off then try him again, if he performs well then we will maybe see him as a regular. 

Good thought. That was what I was thinking too. Too much depth with the D and I think the coaching staff needs to show him what he did right and wrong and let that sink in for a game or two.

Is it possible to puke in you're mouth more than 3 times ? .... 

Hoping Quincey and Lids get back for the next game. Huds on the point is just a nightmare as we found out tonight.

Finding it kind of funny that we all thought the Wings were doomed and would have to spend a bit to bring in a #2. Joey has solidified the backup role. Jimmy needs to get in to shake off the rust Good for Joey ... he just won't give up

The Wings need to find a good right shot D though. The #2 PP will just be a waist of time on the PP without one.

On the bright side, Smith looked great. He'd better play the rest of the season, bar injury.



I don't care what anyone says, Lidstrom's defensive play is slipping big. I'm not sure he's the best defensive defenseman on this team right now, let alone the league.

Smith did better than expected. Lids made a few mistakes but still recovered from them. If the Wings can grab 4 points off the next 2 games, that would be good. At the least, we don't have to watch a late game this weekend.

Wow a back to back game in which the Wings are actually playing someone who played the night before? What was the NHL thinking?

Maybe the Wings deserved some of those calls; but I can I honestly say that was one of the worst games ever called. Babs and Holland (not that they really can) should be calling out for the refs heads in this game.

With Mule most being likely out, I don't think that Babs has much of a choice but to play Modano. He's just a better option than Huds at this point.

Was worried that the Wings would be a little rusty but the Wings pretty much carried the play in the 1st.

Hoping that Ken does the PBP call like he did last night on VS.
