#2650232 ROY according to LGW

Posted by kickazz on 26 January 2016 - 07:34 PM

From Kevin Allen's column at USA Today:

http://www.usatoday....tions/79272740/

Kevin Allen is a voting member AND the president of the PHWA btw aka the guys who vote for Rookie of the Year (among other things). Great to see Larkin on his list (for now).

"Larkin has been the best all-around rookie. He has been Detroit’s best forward.

 ^ Agreed!

From Kevin Allen's column at USA Today:

6. Best Rookie: 1. Dylan Larkin (Detroit Red Wings) 2. Artemi Panarin (Chicago) 3. John Gibson (Anaheim)

Story: Panarin has more points, but Larkin has been the best all-around rookie. He has been Detroit's best forward. He's at plus-23, and has five game-winning goals.

I was going to say something to the effect of, "if I could go back in time and watch this team," but if I went back to this time, I wouldn't have been born yet or would have just popped out.
So I wouldn't understand what I was watching.

#2648288 And your NHL All-Star Division Captains are....

So let me get this straight, John Scott gets this entire situation thrust on him and his first thoughts were to thank his teammates and think about what a cool experience it will be for his family?

What a dick. Definitely not the kind of "boy next door" role model the NHL has been pushing for years.

Habs must have gotten confused about what they were getting when trading for an All star

Well, you got me there Bobby. You debunked my ass pretty good on that one.

#2643300 Adam Oates being brought in to help PP

Not sure how I feel about this move.  We're already pretty deep at center and Oates is past his prime.

#2641247 Bummer, Miller & Pulkkinen out a while

Posted by NitzGuy on 04 December 2015 - 12:33 PM

in today's morning skate, the lines looked like this

Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Abdelkader

Nyquist-Sheahan-Tatar

Helm-Richards-Larkin

Andersson-Glendening-Jurco

Wow that's gross

#2639986 Jurco on Conditioning Assignment in GRs

I think our top 9 should include Jurco, but I REALLY think our top 12 should include Jurco. Right now, its like Miller has a permanent irreplaceable spot in our lineup and there are only 11 spots to compete for. I almost feel like we'd play with 11 forwards and shorthanded during shifts where Miller would be playing if he were to miss any games to injury. It's ridiculous to me that Miller plays over Jurco EVER.

Don't you have a specific thread to keep your Miller hate now?

I think when Jurco is back, Pulk should sit a few games. Jurco on the 4th line doesn't make any sense. This offseason, let Callahan take Miller's spot. You don't replace a guy who you use to kill penalties with a guy you want scoring. Miller has his spot in the lineup because he fulfils his role. Trust me, the coaching staff knows more than you.

#2639170 Ferraro on waivers

Look on the bright side, at least we've still got Pierre Turgeons kid. We are still covered if we decide we need an undersized, tweener, center who is living of his last name's legacy.

Can the Wings sign Gretzky's daughter? PLEASE!

Aha, thanks for the correction. I don't know why I though he was a little guy.

Uhhhhh. Because, for years, that's all the Wings drafted?

#2639677 Larkin for ...

Dion phaneuf.

That way Babcock can see that Larkin is a future #1 center, that would have eventually been able to replace datsyuk.

That'll show him.

Larkin stole his C and demoted him to Zamboni driver.

I don't know what's least likey, Larkin taking Z's C or Z taking Sabotkas Zamboni?

If that's the roster 3 years from now what happened to Z? Isn't he signed until 2020 or something?

Larkin stole his C and demoted him to Zamboni driver.

Im hoping we get Svechnikov up next year, and his brother 3 years later. A little early, but:

Jurco-Larkin-Athanasiou
Mantha-Svechnikov-Svechnikov
Tatar-Sheahan-Nyquist
Abdelkader-Glendening-Helm

Marchenko-Dekeyser
Jensen-Smith
Ouellet-Kindl

Mrazek

$4.x million Abby on the 4th line? Unlikely! Holland saw to that.
