Here it comes again. He was screened and was the victim of a laser shot by one of the game's best pure scorers of the last decade.

We were speculating in the BC as to when this would happen. Apparently being scored on by a deflected, fluttering puck while screened serves as poor goaltending these days. I thus hereby declare that every goalie ever scored on by Tomas Holmstrom sucks.

Being a business major, you're also taught about the ethics portion of business. Losing money is in fact a bad thing, and with revenue sharing encompassing every team, especially in the red, if we were really using wisdom of business logic and economic logic, you would use the universal shut down rule to imply that the Coyotes should be moved to a more profitable area (being over a decade long of debt non-profitability that the rest of the league inevitably has to cover for) or simply contracted and eliminated altogether. When: P < AC and TR < TC A business must shut down and pursue profits elsewhere. This is considered long run, where the Coyotes for several years now have met this long run criteria to pack their s*** up and go or dissolve the team. Now, since we're talking US economics, we're talking Gary "I wanna make the taxpayers of Glendale pay for a team" Bettman economics. What's the common feature? Economic belligerence, not knowing when to call off losses, perpetuated consumption without the revenue to justify it, and the debt financing collateral, which is forcing cities to issue bonds for the sake of private enterprise. This is downright stupid, not a "good job".

I wish some of the Wings would hit like this on a regular basis. Also, this hit is not a charge. If he would have continued to stride into Letang (moving his feet instead of gliding) it would have been charging. If you look at the replay, from the time Letang lets go of the puck until the hit it was roughly two seconds or slightly less, which in my book isn't late. You could argue that he left his feet but I also don't think that was significant either. It's not like he launched himself into Letang. Brule probably should have lead with the shoulder instead so there wasn't any question about the hit, but he definitely popped Letang in the chest and not the chin. If I were one of the Edmonton coaches Brule would have got an "atta boy" from me. Letang got his clock cleaned, plain and simple.

Red Fisher in Montreal Gazette and Frank Orr of the Toronto Star were extremely hard on Ziegler. The difference was they had smaller audiences (seriously, how many of you ran to your local library to read the Toronto and Montreal papers in 1985?) than any writer/blogger has now. He's not a likeable person...he's a lawyer, and he has absolutely no hockey background...unlike Ziegler who had season's tickets to Red Wings games (mind you, he was also the Red Wings lawyer from 1961 through 1977 as well). BUt he's made the lwague a stronger business and a stronger brand.

The following are archives for Wings games that will open in a new flash player window. These are not hosted by me, but the NHL and streamed on demand by their servers. I figure I'd share these while it's still possible, so sometime in the future be it in weeks, months or seasons they will cease to work....so watch them while you can. I will be updating this post as the season goes on; new games tend to be up anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours after they've been played before they become archives. I will also be adding posts in this thread of past playoffs and seasons, so eventually nearly every Wings game through the 07/08 season will be posted. Again I don't know how long this will last. Due to this being a long list I'm generating in excel there could be some errors, or the rare chance there is no archive of the game. Just ask me to look at a certain game should you find one not working and I'll look into it. I'm not sure of the best way to lay this out, so I'm just doing a simple list.
