Derian Hatcher was considered a top defenseman when Holland signed him; calling that signing a mistake because he was injured is like saying the Wings shouldn't have drafted Jiri Fischer because of his then unknown heart condition.

I think you are the only person that doesn't see Stuart's value. He has been incredibly reliable from the day he put on a Red Wings uniform and he's even better in the playoffs.

As people said, the exact same thing last year with Dish Network. What do people do, get angry and switch to someone else. Then they see the same thing with their new provider a year or 2 later. No matter who have, Directv, Dish Network, Comcast, Time Warner, AT&T, Verizon, Cablevision, Charter, Bright House, Wide Open West, etc., etc., etc....there will always be contract negotiations that never get done before the cut-off date. Which pretty much only affects customers. No company goes out of business or has layoffs, customer base just swings away from that company temporarily until the next round of negotiations comes around for a different company. It's never really the providers faults, the networks/broadcasters demand a crap ton more money from the providers, which is always, ALWAYS gets passed on to the customer. It how it was with Fox and Dish Network last year, as well as NBC/Comcast (Versus) with Directv the last time too. Those channels eventually come back to the provider, just the customers have to wait around for one of the companies to give in....no matter who gives in, the customer ends up paying more for their subscription (not right away, but eventually). There is always 2 sides, and customers get stuck in the middle, having to decide who they favor. Really whoever persuades you first, customers are kind of like sheep....we'll follow one shepherd or the other. What can you do? Follow who you want, switch, wait, complain to get some free stuff (it works). Unless there is some kind of government intervention for rules on how these media negotiations are handled, we'll see the same thing again next year with another provider & broadcaster. This seems pretty Red Wings history based (Yzerman and Lidstrom)!!! Stamkos, Crosby, and Ovechkin are sniping goals all over the place in their early 20's. Defensemen are all over the map talent wise. Tyler Myers, Victor Hedmen, etc. should hit their primes sooner than 30. I think your statement would be pretty accurate 20 years ago. But today, players are developing younger and faster. The early 20's players seem to be dominating the early 30's players. And then there's Nick Lidstrom who just crushes at any age. He will be dominating 20 year olds in his 50's more than likely.

Neither Andersson nor Bowman had any influence in the drafting of Fedorov, Lidstrom, or Konstantinov. Bowman was hired after all three were established players in the league, and Andersson was hired in 1990; while the trio was drafted in 1989. Andersson's job is to scout talent and to recommend which European players to draft first. Given that Holland as a GM prefers to keep home-grown talent, and the team has a large number of European players, this will of course place a large fingerprint from Andersson as well. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen, Filppula, Hudler, Holmstrom, Kronwall, and Ericsson were all Andersson players. But none of them are drafted or stay with the team unless Holland makes the call.

Im in no way saying that some suspensions shouldn't occur. But do you really thin Wiz should get 8 games for that? suspended? yes prolly, 8 games? no And instead of suspending everyone, they could just bring the game back to pre lockout, those barely noticeable holds can prevent injuries. I just want hockey 2 be like it was in the 90's.
