This team doesn't deserve a miracle, they deserve a bag skate.

You guys need to settle down...We're playing an amazing team who has all their guys healthy and have dominated the rest of the league....wait....oh....none of that is true. My bad.

The sad thing is whether you agree with those penalties or not, the Wings have been playing too lazily to argue against them. They get beat to the puck and have to take penalties to compensate. Horrible.

Eaves needs to be in every game

He is EASILY one of our 11 best forwards when everyone is healthy (let alone top 12)... the fact he's been a healty scratch at ALL is a problem... I love the way Miller and Emmerton have been playing and they've both shown they deserve to play, so it's a difficult situation, but Eaves flat out should never be a healthy scratch... I'll go one further that he needs to see PP time, yes, I said it. Babs wants another R handed shot on the point for the PP - problem solved. He is too good to not play.

And that missed call about sums it up.

I spoke too soon. Dammit. Nice to know we're enabling all the rookies to get their 1st NHL goals. We're generous like that apparently.

    Thoughts on Ericsson?

Hey, you don't want to see Bertuzzi angry. Just ask DraperFan......I mean Steve Moore.

    Pronger injured after high-stick

haha one of these people who thinks they are the center of the universe, and ps, my comment went far above your head

Exactly. I guess I gave Wings fans too much credit. Pronger has been a major rival over the years, but from the replay and from McKenzie's twitter update, it seems pretty likely he either had an injury to his eye or a very close call. It sucks to see any player suffer an injury like that during a game. jeebus people. It's not like Pronger has ended anyone's career like Bertuzzi.

Not sweet. Just not sweet. Oh well. Shake it off. Get ready for the next game.

Columbus has played a great game. They've not given Wings any room forcing them to shoot from outside. The bad thing is that Wings look like they are fine with it.

It's going to have to be one hell of a third period. I'll tell you that.

Honestly I think Datsyuk and Zetterberg need to be taken off the same line, its just not working.

10/25 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Blue Jackets 4

too bad neither of them are finishers

Hahaha, isn't that the truth. If Ozzie was in the net pulling this I can only imagine the outcry (even though I'd still defend him )

    Pronger injured after high-stick

Pronger is an ******* douchebag. I hope his eye is ok. But I hope it hurts.

    Nevermind

    What's up with Zetterberg?

But the line's Mule, Huds and Flip. I know it's surprising, but Hudler's doing a good job on that line.

    2010-11 NBA Season Thread

Agreed on all accounts. When (if) the NBA plays again, the Pistons are starting to build some pieces. Jerebko will be healthy and I think Daye can still develop into a solid player too. I don't want anything to do with the players you mentioned either and I would also throw Stuckey in that category as well. Stuckey isn't a point guard and I think Ben Gordon has more to offer than what we've seen so far from him at shooting guard. This team is going to stink regardless for awhile so I want guys like Knight to play as much as possible early. Frank is a good basketball coach and doesn't deserve to put up with the stale environment that Rip, Prince and Stuckey among others have created the past few seasons. If Frank doesn't work out, the next person without a job should be Joe Dumars.

I said I don't find them particularly funny. They're hackneyed, overused memes, but that doesn't mean that much like the proverbial blind squirrel, it fails to find a nut once in a blue moon. Sorry my taste in humor is bit above "LOLZ CHEEZBURGERZ!"

This is Prongers own fault for being too tall... If he was shorter, the stick wouldn't have hit him in the eye.
  22. 1 point
False. Burke offered him a minor league contract when he wasn't even medically cleared to play, either just to taunt Moore or for the press and positioning for a lawsuit, so people will only remember "moore turned down a contract." Evidently it worked. Back on topic regarding Pronger, I hate the guy, but really just when the Wings are playing him. He got absolutely schooled a few nights ago when someone scored and I laughed out loud. He's basically a Chris Chelios. Talented player who has had several instances where he goes way over the line. Or for those who remember, he's like the player Harold Snepsts but with 10 times the talent. But I don't want him to lose an eyeball. The league is better with him in it. It needs villians and Pronger is a good one and a good player.

did you watch the clip? He took a stick to the face, so I'm not sure what you're referring to. The puck wasn't involved. And you can hear the yelling. I think Pronger is a player who goes over the line (though I'd take him on the Wings), but that doesn't mean I'm happy when he takes a stick to the face.

    Thoughts on Ericsson?

I dont think hes overestimating it really. He laid a beatdown on a kid thats usually in the top 10 for fighting majors right there, the fight wasnt really even close. If Ericcson did it more, he would get much better cause thats a part of the game you can only get better by actually fighting. Aint no practice drill helping you there. And I agree it seems like Babs is encouraging him to do it more often, he had similar words for Adelkader last season as well. I think hes a pretty good fighter already, he has the potential to be a pretty damn good one. Growing up in Sweden he didnt do much of it and hes already good enough to take on alot of light heavy weights. If he gets playing like aloose cannon a bit more he could really be a force. Bertuzzi is far from a sissy, hes 36 and fought 4 times last season including playoffs and preseason. Not a lot of guys wanna mess with him, hes earned his reputation (through his cheapshot and really tough player prior to that). Ever notice when he goes into a scrum and shoves a guy, people arent too quick to shove him back and the situationusually dies right off? And Ericcson has went Clowe (who is a heavyweight) and did pretty well, Clarkson (light heavyweight) but it was a bad fight and has man handled all kinds of punks like Perry, Dorsett and Ott. Why does he need to fight an enforcer? Those punks are the guys that need to be kept in check and Ericcson has dummied any agitator hes taken on. Sure it would be cool to see him take on an enforcer, but not just to prove something. He shoudl do it when theres good reason, and most of the times its those pests that are giving reason, not goons
