We played the perfect ROAD game against a team that was on a TEN game win streak. We didn't get physically outmatched. We got out shot, but we always seem to out shoot most teams and we've lost a handful of times while outshooting these teams. Outshooting a team doesn't mean you dominated that team. GREAT WIN RED WINGS!!!!!!

Didn't see the game, but Howard can win a Stanley Cup. I'm convinced now, theres a difference between standing on your head on a tuesday night in Columbus and on national TV against the Stanley Cup champions. We make a few moves throughout the year, and our young guys keep getting better and who knows what this team could be capable of.

Crosby was the only plus player on the team. BEAST.

Funny how all summer Crosby was all "HEAD SHOTS MUST END!"...and then he blatantly elbows Foligno in the face. Can't wait for the sheep to justify that.

The Wings will win. Trust me today is my day. I just came home (to check on the dog) from the hospital where my daughter (first child) was born at 3:59am EST. 6lbs 7oz 19 inch beautiful girl, mom and baby are doing very well. No way the hockey gods would let the Wings lose today, and make me have to deal with all of my friends(I live near Boston) for the next 2 months!

I'm perfectly OK with Wings not participating in this dumb popularity contest. I'd rather watch Howard play his All-Star game in June. that's all I care...

Yup he got the better of a bigger fighter too. I think a lot of people think Callahan is going to be a small agitator type like Steve Ott when in reality this kid looks more like a Chris Neil, Darren Mccarty type. He wont be fighting the hugest guys in the league but would probably do ok against a lot of them. WHen he makes the NHL he'll be talked about as one of, if not the toughest pound for pound player in the league while being able to skate a regular shift

The problem with Parise (and Suter for that matter) is that there are at least 6 GMs out there that will overpay for them. I can't see Holland doing anything silly. He may leave his comfort zone to land Suter but not Parise.

I know it's only been 9 games but Ian White looks terrible, he gets caught pinching constantly, his shots are all over the place, and he just does not seem to have an ability to make a break out pass. The question arises with so many games left in the season can he turn it around or is this just who he is. I wish him the best, for the Wing's sake and for my own sanity. But in the mean time does anybody else have a little buyers remorse?

Yes, this made dealing with extended family driving me crazy for two days worthwhile. Thank god for beer and hockey in my man cave.

My point was about our defense, which I don't think played great. Don't know how anyone can say otherwise. Datsyuk was awesome, but he's not what I was criticizing. In fact, he "was" his line. I was talking more about the defense. Howard's turnover was in part because we had trouble handling the forecheck. Same with Zetterberg's gaffe. The part about teams catching up getting more chances doesn't hold water. Neither team was ever up by more than a goal. If anything, our defense should have tightened up and not give up a shooting gallery. And you're right about Boston's aggressive forecheck usually getting lots of chances. That's the whole point I was making. We don't handle that kind team well. Lastly, San Jose beat us two years in a row. People have a hard time grasping that. So we took them to 7 games the second time around. Big deal. We still lost.
